Try playing with 10 member alliance, with more than half active once in a blue moon.
Why i continue to play with this bunch, because half wants to learn how to play and I like to share.

I can survive without spending a coin, but when i do coins, it tend to get boring after a while because I would end up using 15 random tele to get to a decent target, having 10 cities on my coining account, I cannot instant cap an npc without dropping 1 city.

I often lend 1 city to ally members for safe keeping, and when i am done, in some rare case, the city is lose and have been ported away by another player, or the player dont log back for days.

While alliance offers safety, it is not garuantee, if you lose too much of their troops, they will be reluctant to reinforce you in the future, you also need to consider developing your own strategy base on what others have suggested.

These methods of transports and billions of a resource is used on established servers. I'm more asking about the 1st week out of BP. You have a method to stop a massive coiner from cleaning you out or cross fingers and hope to make it long enough to train 50k-100k transports or farm enough npc's to buy 20 billion stone?

I don't see the strategies very useful to someone playing for free.

yes, I have, but the 20 billion stone is a gradual rise and not sudden.

What I gave you is an extreme situation, were you can select what may work for you and tweak it to something you can use, because no 2 situations are alike, unless it is a controlled setting.

Hidding your resources with transport prove to be useful and have and are being used by many players.
I have tried to plunder a player in 148, i have sent a cluster of mix wave, hitting in a span of 2-3 second, wave that included mech and transport.
He used his transport and sold those he cant move and my troops return with near "0",
I may have won the fight, but i lose alot of food sending all those troops at a distance.
I can repeat the same process and time the markets on their 30 min delivery time, but should i fail or repeat a failed, the resources i might be able to pluder won't compensate the food i lose trying to plunder, therefore I gave up trying to plunder, but tried a different method, which i won't share.

You should be able to pull some ideas on how to work your strategy by me saying the above method.

Don't rely on others step by step guide, you must learn how the strategy works and learn where and when to adjust as situation call for.
I know you can do it, don't be afraid to fail, failure is a key to success.

Back to your question. Don't level your city too high, as it will attract attention.
City that near level 8,9, and 10 tends to catch attention if they are gray more so red.
The reason it attract they needed to secure their estate, any potential threat has to be dealt with early.
If you have enough troops to defend, still keep your gate close and hide your food so that you don't get refuges.

Warehouse plays a big role in your situation.

What i love about this game is, everything is a strategy.
When to buy and sell resources, when to spend coins, when to mass recruit troops, when to attack and the list goes on and on.
The variety of strategy one can use is stagering, I have many more theories yet to be tried.

In WAR, one must decide their faith, or others will decide yours.
