Thread: Coiner vs Non-Coiner

I would think if Evony advertised and "pre-sold" spots for an upcoming "pay to play" server, say..30 days before the opening of the server, they would probably generate a lot of attention.

I think "most players" who have played this game for any amount of time, would LOVE TO SEE just 1 server where EVERYONE IS EQUAL.

It's the one concept missing from this game.....Equality (all players starting on the same level).

But I really hope, If Evony reads these posts, they will explore the financial possibility of at least trying 1 server with an "Equality for all players" Format. I think it would be far more successful than they might think.

I'm also fine with the idea several of you have suggested about having a "monthly fee" that keeps the server going for at least 1 year.

It's no question that this could be easily done....the real question is if Evony is willing to "think outside the box" and try it.

I would like ot remind most of you that most smart coinners are often less aggressive early.

The reason being, is they are either setting their estate which is normally consist of 20-30 level 10 barracks, the odd thing is, we never used all of it, because I never remember which i farm last or which is next.
In other words, out of the 30 level 10 I normally have i usually able to farm 15-20, even if I write down a list, it just time consuming.

    Back to the coiners.
Coiners are often less aggressive due to a different mindset, build hero.
Most coiners will go straight in trainning their Hero to as high as possible, it is a race to reach the top 10, top 20 or atleast top 50.
However, there are circumstance that will provoke a coiner to turn on none coiners, such as; valley stealing, spaming low level npc near them, scouting them, tapping their 5s and many more.
If you keep a friendly conversation and often pat his shoulder with praise for their achievment, and ask question that they can answer.
In other word, try to keep a good relation and you will be in good hand.

I know this work well because many have done it to me, and I have done it to others.

Ask them about their Hero level, it surely get their attention, well most, not all.

deadlysage, I've tried 3 or 4 browser games recently. Everyone one of them seem to be Evony mods, with the pay option as well.

As you approach the endgame in a server, the gap between coiners and non-coiners shortens dramatically.
So if you're a non-coiner, just stay smart, lie low and build your troops and train heroes.

We are a non-coiner alliance and we are doing pretty well in the hardest state in the new server - 151 Romagna.

Of course players in our alliance still get hit by stronger coiner. First 3 weeks: all of our reports were attks report from coiners/stronger player. As of this week, 95% of reports are our own attack reports.

It is important to try to keep your resource to research, save your balls, make archers, and farm valleys as soon as you can to catch up with cities.

Make use of the 3 ports and reinforcements from stronger player will help you surviving the early state.

Survive 1 month and you can make it to baron/viscount with enough cities/troops to defend and clean the area around you.

This is an age-old discussion to which there is not nessecarily a cookie-cutter answer for. I am mostly a coiner as well, but every now and then i will start on a server just to hang out with people, and not coin.

There are several tricks, many already mentioned. If there is a big coiner in your area, maybe join their alliance, or make a local deal with them. Offer something in return, like you will clean up the area and take out smaller targets for them, you won't hit their npc's, etc. If it is an aggressive coiner, this will not work, they will want you gone.

On that note, you should have a couple tele's, try to find an open area. If one moves in on you, you can obviously take the hits, be smart and try not to lose resources, but in time they usually move on. if you know one's going to hit you often and they are using cavs or phracts, build lots of abatis and make them pay for hitting you, and build lots of pikes, then move all troops but pikes and open gates, hopefully you can defeat a round or two, and that will really hurt him.

Just make them not want to attack you, there are many ways.

I myself am a non-coiner and have seen my alliance (which contains absolutely NO COINERS) knock many alliances on their asses and many times out of the state (we refer to our group as the poor peoples alliance lol) so before everyone goes off saying a non coining alliance can't win look up the EvilDead on server 150.
