First off, thanks for the information everyone has been posting about these problems and thanks to those who responded off-thread to davemata with some other traceroutes.

Thanks especially to those of you who are helping others.

As to the problems, I think neko_lord is correct that there are likely problems on our side. We are investigating, but have not yet figured out where they're occuring. The data posted to this thread has helped even if we haven't yet solved the problem.

I believe there is a completely different problem as well. It looks like Primus is blocking traffic to one of our datacenters, while traffic to the other is being allowed. Traceroutes datamata received off-thread show traffic being blocked at a Primus router. I contacted Primus last week, but had not yet received a response, so I followed up again earlier tonight. I just checked and there is a response from Primus stating that the questions and traceroutes are being forwarded to Primus' networking group.

Thanks for your patience thus far. We are working on it even if you're not yet seeing resolution.

    Hello,

It isn't often that I post on the forums but as you can see I been playing for a very long time. I can ensure you on na32 is still not functioning at this time. Yes it is up but you can not do anything even get troop remaining times etc. I would not call the game stable as well.

This has been verified by multiple locations as well not just this one internet connection.

Can you please look into this in timely manner as it is now going on over 12+hrs of downtime .

    Thanks,
    Beoku

    The tracerts were run correctly.

I just called Primus and was told they won't talk to me. I have to email support@, which I've already done a couple of times. Still waiting for a response from the networking group.

Yup, we need to continue checking for blocks on our side. We also need to keep working on the non-Primus problems. We have improved several things in the last few weeks, but know game play is still experiencing lag.

I looked that up, and yes, it is a Primus address.

Every now and then, I have a problem with the Cox <-> Cogent handoff point where everything to do with Evony ends up being "blocked", basically because traffic can't get into Cogent's network.

Did you say that 216.254.131.117 is the same device that allows traffic to the 208.88.16.xxx range? Is the next hop another company?

I appreciate you taking the time to look into these issues. I sincerely hope they can be addressed... This was an issue that has existed in some form for at least a year. Previously, customers experiencing this were left holding the bag.

At this time, I'm going to be taking several steps back, due to various reasons. I still hope that a more responsive technical support infrastructure can be implemented for those customers who remain.

Yeah, traffic through that router goes to cogent as the next step for 64.156.195.0/24.

For a different player the traffic goes through a different router. For that player it stops at the other Primus router for 208.88.18.0/24, but continues to yet another Primus router, then to cogent for 64.156.195.0/24.

I've now engaged our DC in the problem with Primus and cogent, so hopefully we can get it resolved, then I'll get them back on the other problems. I believe they peer with cogent, so they've got a bit more sway than I have.

Yes, the na32 problem was a general issue. I am trying to get an update on it.

The server has been online all day, so the best way to get around this is clear your flash and temp files in your browser so the game client is "fresh." That will clear up your issue.
