    The server has been online all day, so the best way to get around this is clear your flash and temp files in your browser so the game client is "fresh." That will clear up your issue.

    I do believe there's a saying about "repeating the same action over and over and expecting a different response"

    Dawnseeker, it's great that your records say one thing, but please acknowledge that this thread lists multiple people saying the same thing. They've cleared their caches and cookies etc etc, and still having issues. This then, would be the time for Evony to investigate the curious nature of a recurring error that appears to be happening to differing people in differing areas.

    Might I also point out that a non-Evony representative/employee has, in his un-Evony-paid spare time, shown more interest and help to these people, than to those hired to do so?

    Please, investigate the problem instead of simply telling people there's nothing you can do. Quite obviously there IS something that can be done, as has been shown here. And yes, I'll add another voice to those asking why you would open yet another new server that will undoubtedly fall prey to the same glitches and errors that you're currently "not responsible for".

    I don't believe in thinking before I speak
    I prefer to be just as surprised as everyone else by what I say

    Like I mentioned before, if it's the same issue where the person is able to authenticate and other people in-game can verify that the "Last Online" time as viewed from Alliance Stats shows that their last login matches the time of the failed login (Network Connection error received), then that situation has existed off and on for nearly a year. It corresponds pretty much exactly to when they did the changes to address the "Incorrect Account or Password" messages.

    I can understand the whole "it's not the game servers" aspect, as it probably isn't the game servers. It, however, is almost for certain something to do with the way people are being routed to the game servers. That, despite claims to the contrary, is fully within Evony's responsibility to address, as it's their equipment that is responsible for the name-based routing.

    What needs to be done is have a person that has the problem in direct contact with an employee (admin, preferably) that can look at the systems involved in the login transaction at the same time that the person is trying to connect, and watch for the traffic to make sure it hits the right router, server, and gets passed on properly. If there is a problem, then the person watching can get a better idea of the problem and how to come up with a solution.

    Neko;

    Thanks for your help. Funny how I am getting more help from you than from anyone at Evony. My ticket remains unanswered since April 12, but hey that is only a week. That was that my ISP must have put on a restriction and to contact them.

    Metadave I think it was said it would be interesting if there were a tracert showing no errors and still getting a network connection error. Now there is one and I guess it is too interesting for him to respond to the issue. I sent Dawnseeker a pm about a week ago concerning the matter and it too remains unanswered. Funny how this is my problem isn't it? One has to wonder if they really care at all? How many times one clears flash and temp files for a fresh game client when the same browswer and same flash can access another server.

    So c'mon Evony step up and resolve the issue. But then that makes me go to Khalee's post about doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different response. Good post by the way.

    I will see if i can find if the login time shows in the alliance and let you know.

    Thanks for the help!

    That I cannot answer. The only way I can see that it would be possible is for the files on the server to be bad, but if the files on the server were bad, then more people would have the problem.

    I still believe this is a problem with the process that handles the host name-based routing once the user authenticates.

    Hi neko;

    Thanks for the reply. I had sent Dave Mata a private message about this yesterday. He advised that he was home sick but had asked someone to look into it. I see he has posted today but no response to my pm. I never did get an answer from Dawnseeker so I will give Dave some credit for at least replying. I am trying to ascertain if i am shown as logged in the Alliance when i attempt to connect.

    I am also posting on another thread where primus customers are experiencing similar problems. http://bbs.evony.com/showthread.php?t=176466

    I hate to be a pain but i am wondering if this would give you any insight. I hate to be a bother but Evony support seems to be a black hole.

    Thanks.

    Not exactly. We're looking at a few things and we'll be needing to gather data from some saavy folks, and I think neko_lord is going to be volunteered (by me) for that.

    It's an issue we're actively investigating.

    Are you sure he's not going to be voluntold?

    That's a key piece of information. Until you are able to determine that, then I don't know if this is the same issue I've seen people report for a year or not...

    I've watched that thread, and yes, with past issues like what I think is going on, using a proxy server can enable you to access a server that you have been unable to previously connect with. If you can use a proxy and connect, then this is another indication that the local data files (your cache and cookies) are perfectly fine, as they're the same cache and cookies...

    I've never experienced the issue. I've only watched what other people have said here. This has gone on for a very long time.

    You'll find that I'm not big on being told anything these days. I'm just a customer, and do not have a responsibility / duty to help. I had attempted to help in the past, and got hate and invective hurled at me for it, that's why I stopped attempting to help. When non-technical people are in authority positions in regards to the forum discussion of technical issues and they decide that the customer is to blame, then there's no point in even trying to offer help. That's the position I was in before. Even if I gave my best advice, the customer would still end up in a situation where the employees at the time would not take them seriously and/or blame the customer and/or the customer's computer and/or the customer's internet connection for the issue. Given all that, there was no point in trying to help, so for a long time I just read the threads that would come up and got tempted to say something a time or two, then realized the futility.

    Why I'm speaking up again now? Not sure. Maybe hope that the new guy can get something done...

    *shrug*

    For those that do feel like helping, drop me a pm, our server guys would like to gather some data, and we can get the process started.
