SLAY LOL . But question still stands so apart from laughing with slay please answer my questions![]()
Also can someone explain these reports? http://ww.evonyurl.com/2c882h I understand the layers getting destroyed but why all those ballista? I know there is a hero difference but what about defence should have been changed. Why is that attack any different from this, http://ww.evonyurl.com/w5779u Hero this Hero that but surely there is more to it? Finally this is the one really confusing me.. http://ww.evonyurl.com/532dhc only defence is pults and ballies really.. Arent they meant to have a wall advantage and wipe out the attackers?
The difference is 5k (traps, abatis, Defensive Trebs).
If those are in place, combat starts at a range of 5200. If they are not in place, combat starts at a range of 1700.
There are LOT of threads talking about range. Please go search for some of them.
ignore it its a stupid spam bot

Mech Defense works if you have ballista, catapults, and scouts to prevent your opponent from scout bombing all you ballistas. But this is vulnerable to a cav smash which requires a layered defense with ground troops. Good players will attack with both so they can either pull one attack type or let them both land with acceptable losses

The two attacks are fundamentally different. In the first attack, it is a CD (range 1700 there), and a much smaller number of mechs and weak hero. In that situation, attacking missile troops all fire first at ATs, in the sequence of archers, ballistas, catapults. None of those are able to kill all the ATs in round 1, so in round 2 they repeat that attack. In the meantime, the defensive archers (firepower greatly enhanced with that hero) are wiping out the attacking missile without return fire. The opposing melee muddle it out in the middle, but have no impact on overall fight.
In the second battle, the attacking catapults with that hero are unbelievably massive. The combined firepower of attacking catapults and ballistas almost equals those million defensive archers. Plus now range is 5200 (traps, etc) so ATs irrelevant - they never fire in that fight. Basic sequence is that the attacking siege barely moves off start line, and start shooting at approaching horse then foot soldiers. It devastates them with that firepower. Eventually, the archers come into view, which they wipe while taking big losses. The defensive warriors or ballista then finish off remnant attacking siege ( not sure which, or maybe both - didnt bother to figure it out).
