Yeah, Facebook has a help area, but if you aren't from Facebook corporate, you might have a problem with it. They didn't really focus on the concept of usability.

o look maybe they just offer double cents as option that way ppl without or who dont want to be forced into facebook can reap some kind of reward since most of us have been around and loyal to evony way before this facebook crap started

but have no fear evony will crap on again and offer all week junk for facebook and poke fun at us who dont or cant create a facebook and some ppl spend there valuable rented cafe time to play and spend rather then do facebook

Let's not get it twisted, there is nothing new about Facebook, nor any other facets of social networking. There is also nothing ground breaking or out of the norm for us to run promotions on Facebook.

You are more than welcome to join in, there is nothing preventing you from creating an FB account. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if we ran more promotions on FB - there are a lot of benefits to the connectivity and communications it provides.

Feel free to continue to vent, but in my opinion, you guys are grousing without a good reason.

So, the answer to my question is "Yes" then...

    I figured as much...

Dave, many of us don't put our lives on display on Facebook or other social media sites, because we recognize the privacy concerns that doing so brings into play, principally stalking and identity theft.

Beyond that, there's the fact that many employers check out the social media sites these days to decide if they want to hire you. If you have a whole bunch of silliness going on, then they may just toss your application / resume on out, and they're not obligated in the slightest to tell you that's why you are no longer being considered for the job.

If you want to call those reasons invalid, then that's your choice, I suppose...

Not quite, those are your reasons, and your reasons are valid to your specific situation. Others enjoy Facebook, and yet others actually base their career on Facebook.

While there are privacy issues, there are also tools in FB to secure your data feed. Honestly though, why put up anything you'd be embarassed by?

I view social media adoption much the same as I view technology adoption, adopt and have the ability to "thrive", avoid and potentially have issues due to those choices. The best part of that is that you have the choice to adopt or not. Just like we have the choice to run a promo on a particular social media channel. We're not going to twist your arm over Facebook, you just might miss out on some promos.

To complain about not being able to get in on a promo because you don't want to join a free social networking site is much akin to the older generation calling personal computers a fad, or worse. (My personal .02 as a tech adopter.)

I remember a lot of these same concerns about privacy when forums became the new fad and newsgroups started to fall into limited use.

I dont really see what the big deal is. I made a facebook for ev called Lazzy Evony with a mail that is LazzyEvony. if i need to do something ev related on facebook i log on there. If you dont like it, dont do it but there is really nothing to whine about with this.

well its not fair dave and you guys are targeting only a certain group of ppl
there should be promotions that are available to everyone not just ppl with facebook

you can run promotions on your own created forums here and have voting just like ppl do for other various things

and just in on my news do not open any face book mails claiming to have photos of the dead osama bin laden it has a virus that will steal your personal info ooops thats right face book is "COOL" NOT!

now i would have opened it as i would love to see for sure that loser was dead and got the virus for sure so NO THANKS TO FACEBOOK

and Ty Evony For screwing your loyal and valuable player base AGAIN
but hey i guess we should be used to it as that is the way you guys have always run things that way

The difference with a forum is that you're not required to use your real name. Facebook's Terms state that they want you to use your real name. Many people disregard that and create pseudonyms. That's a violation of their terms. Many people do this to reap benefits from your game as well, so, frankly, you complaining about people NOT violating rules of another company based on your willingness to do so and/or your willingness to allow others to do so and/or your eagerness for PROFIT, is abhorrent, and, bluntly, unbecoming of a manager-level employee, particularly considering your prior flippant and rude response to my very simple question.

You are entitled to your opinion, but the fact remains that those of us who supported the company prior to Age II are kicked to the curb and ignored, based on the opinion similar to yours.
