    And Morgan i think your right about the multi accounting and botting being the reason for no merges, when you have whole 99 person alliances made up of nothing but bots Evony would just think they were active....at least thats what i assume they would think. not really sure how they decide to merge though, would be nice to get a exact answer from a Rep on this.....hint hint DAVE....lol

    One more time, and I'm VERY serious when I say ... DO NOT merge s139. Don't even think about it.
    139 is very active, just had a massive npc sweep and is wide open.
    We DO NOT want the nightmares that come with server merges

    Hey, how bout server shuffle instead of merge

    Take the top 10 alliances from 5-10 servers and merge into a new superserver.
    Take the next 10 alliances, ranked 10-20 of each into a second super server.
    Take the rest and put into a third server, here they would die a death worthy of an inactive.

    This would not work to well for prestige dumping alt cheaters, but they are cheating anyways so forget them.

    Give notice when the merge/shuffle will take place and give active players time to join a top 30 alliance.

    SS31 i doubt you would find an active player in alliances ranked 15-30 and beyond

    You need to fix things first. Some of the new servers have such lag that you almost cant play you can go into refuge cause you cant get farm parties out cause of the lag. Also owrk on getting rid of botters some server are so littered with them that you cant fight many players cause you just find more botters

    I play on ss56 and under another name on ss59.On a good day a city will change hands every few minutes.While some of that is city exchanges between alliance members ,there still is enough action to satisfy most players.

    I can assure you, that we won't expose exactly how we make those determinations as they are trade secrets, and something our numerous clones would like to get their hands on.

    We do look at a number of factors, obviously, both internal and external. Internal meaning us, the developers, what are we doing and what are our development goals currently? External meaning the server, is it active, what feedback are we receiving, etc.

    I appreciate that people want mergers, but at the core of this game is PVP, us merging a server isn't going to stimulate long term pvp, only players can do that by wanting to fight other players.

    But if there are no players to fight? Please take a look at 128, and see how the #1 alliance is red with basically the entire server.

    Its not like we made a super huge coalition and killed everybody else so we want to merge because we dont want to declare on our friends. We went alone and killed the coalition and the whole server into a wasteland. So merge is all that is left.

    I am on ss59 and personally dont think this ss should go for merge.
    1 there are severe bugs on the server, which causes war reports to disappear from few hours before maintance (and what is worst, with prolonged time of not solving it, the more is being deleted, started with about 2 hours now its up to about 4-5hours before maintance). It started after the emergency maintance about hmmm almost 3 months ago?
    2 not being able to share war reports at times
    3 still lot of active players, so the final situation would be worse than ss60 currently is.

    I think the major criteria for next ss should be:
    - if activity, then choosing servers which have lower activity, because if servers are merged too soon, it creates space issues (and the space issue is one reason people bot on some ss servers).
    - the server should be in as best technical state as possible, without serious bugs on the server, because the problems some newly merged ss are having, are really nasty. ss59 had emergency maintance in last 3 months and some issues are far from solved and ss60 has a terrible lag.

    Yes being the pioneer of online PVP and being completly original in the design of evony has its drawbacks

    That said I respect yor descion not to revel how mergers are determined, although anyone with half a brain could narrow down the variables which determine a merge fairly easily. It has to do with long run profits vs. short run costs
    Also it is very true that PvP is the basis of evony, but as humans it seems that we can only kill each others pixel soilders so many times before we become freindly with one another. I for one am happy that the mergers have ceased for the moment as I am assuming that evony is attempting to correct many of the glitches which have plauged all of the recently merged servers. Seems that evony is attempting to respond to many of the complaints about lag, and other glitches but by doing so is taking heat by not merging servers, seem like you guys can never win ....
