I just wanted to say that I was having problems logging into ss57 from my house, but could get in just fine from my phone and from my work computer. I contacted my Internet Service Provider and was advised that apparently my home router had been banned (by evony?) by denying services to its particular mac address. Several others have had the same experience. If you keep getting the "Network Connection Error" on your regular server but can log into other servers, replace your router or clone the mac address to a different machine and you'll get right back in.
how u close the mac address, not haveing problem but may happen to me in future .
Google "clone mac address" and whatever type of router you have. The directions will pop right up. I think its different for each type of router.
MAC addresses do not cross routers except in very unique situations, which would not typically apply to Evony.
The advice to replace a router is not one that should be followed.
For now, this issue seems to be isolated to the servers hosted out of Seattle. I've alerted davemata to the situation yesterday, but it was before the outage, so I doubt they've had time to work on it yet.
The only thing you should try is to use either a different internet provider or check into using a proxy server.
I'm not one to throw accusations around.. JUST FACTS.. you make your own conclusions.. I will give you MINE at the end here just as an opinion... AN OPINION
1. 06/22/2011 - myself and others got kicked out of evony.com at around 9:30-ish pm.. NO chance in heck to get back in
2. MY home network is a wireless based network, just as others are...
3. CAN'T LOG IN FROM WORK.. yet
4. CAN only log in from home - steps taken? dug up an old B router from the garage (different MAC address).. my newer G/N router still does not work
5. TRIED to mask my IP address using internet available software.. did not work
6. BIG #6... so I can get into evony using an old B router (different MAC address).. but I can't get into evony using my original G/N router or even WORK's routers...
7. friends using different ISPs ( I use comcast) have told me the advice they've gotten advice from their IT professionals stating ROUTER MAC addresses being banned may be the cause of their issues
8. I can connect to evony.com (SS57) using a cable modem to laptop DIRECT connection - sans router.. no problem
9. I CAN connect to other servers (non SS57) servers w/wo my "banned" router (ie router mac address) - BOTH AT WORK AND AT HOME
10. WTF!!!!!!!!! only way to BAN MAC addresses of your router, is to actually hack into a home network and get a mac address.. MAC addys are not something that's normally shared across the internet... MOST NEWER ROUTERS have a heavy defense against such types of hacks... FOR SOME reason, which I can't explain at the moment, my "newer" G/N router had logs jammed up with DOS type attacks.. so basically it wouldn't let any EVONY traffic in...
So my personal opinion here.. JUST A DAMN OPINION.. (not trying to be a 2nd martyr like Zero - a whole different topic)... either EVONY itself got hacked in a major way... OR Evony (as part of the baloney cerberus project) has engaged in "questionable" tactics...(ie hacking into user networks to get mac addies of routers to ban) from connecting to evony.
for the moment, I've had to switch routers in order to get in at home.. (of course doesn't do JACK for me when at work, since those mac addys seem to be banned as well).... would appreciate some "discussion" and "open-ness" on the above FACTS - as I've experienced them.. and have others I've been speaking with on SS57... this is BS

Sorry this thread is for the glorifcaion of Bot Laden only
Hi,
I don't think Evony would attempt hacking into anyone's network equipment.
It is illegal in most countries, and would be a prosecutable offence.
Such actions would easily get them shut down. It just isn't worth the risk.
