What about the troops lost to refuge? What about the cities capped because some could login and some couldn't? If you used first class equipment and competent tech people this wouldn't happen with the regularity that it does.

As I'm sure you all noticed, we had a complete outage of our website today due to a problem at our datacenter. This resulted in game and web servers being offline while we worked on the problem. The servers are coming back online now and should all be up soon.

As usual, when there are server status problems, we used twitter and facebook to communicate with our players in real time so everyone knows what is going on. We encourage everyone to follow us on Twitter so you can get these important updates:

    Evony Twitter
    Evony Facebook

We apologize for the outage and we'll have more information soon about server status and such. Thanks for bearing with us.
Dawnseeker, I do not post on the forums, usually just read what I am searching for and return to the game.

However I believe this time I will make the effort to articulate my thoughts here.

You stated that there was a "complete outage" on the servers. However this was not the case at all. Some people were able to log/play/attack while others were not able to log at all to defend/feed their cities.

Now I realize folks want compensation for time lost playing, farming etc. & I have to agree that something should be compensated. However I think instead of just centering it around food consumption loss it aught to be centered around rolling back to the point where you all had the datacenter issue to start with.

For me, I have no problem being attacked while I am offline, that is a choice I make so completely accept actions taken while I am not around, however being attacked while offline due to a situation that we had no control over and being attacked by folks that seemed to not be affected by this "complete outage" is just wrong.

If it was "complete" for the servers affected, how were players able to log & attack during this time, or for that matter remain if they were already logged? 2 of my members were attacked during this outage, while neither were able to log, lost everything except the cities (which is something at least) 2 seperate alliances, 2 seperate attackers, and I am aware this is not an exclusive act, others also had the same problems.

So in my opinion, whether I am a paying member of the Evony game or not, I feel Evony should compensate ev1, not just the farmers that refuged, or were unable to farm, but also the defenders that were unable to log and defend against attackers that were able to log & attack. Rolling back to when the issue started would cover all these bases, plus for folks that lost time on Vesta's Blessings, or whatever buffs they may have applied. No one would lose, not even the attackers who lost troops.

Although their ill-gotten gains would revert back to the defender, it still allows everyone to defend, attack, farm WITH the ability to make that choice by being able to log or not by their own choice and not by the failure of a system we do not control.

Thank You for considering this request...and btw I was not one of those that was attacked, nor did I have refuge, I was however one of many I spoke with that could not log for well over 5 hours.

    Default still issues?

Anyone still having issues? I got into 149 for about 2 seconds this morning before I got booted out...

I am always prepared for a day or two of not being able to farm but I have lost out now on two times that I normally farm heavily...

May I say what a well-written post this is? Itis not only well-written, it also makes some very good points.

I must be one of the lucky few who was offline at the time of the outage and have been completely unaffected by it. But I feel for those who have been affected, particularly those who actually lost cities.

I absolutely agree that some sort of compensation is necessary here; I realise it is only a game but many people, a large amount of whom are unable to put money in and so have had to actually build up from scratch, have put a lot of time and effort into this and to have this kind of problem is, quite honestly, unacceptable.

There are some great ideas that have been suggested as to the form the compensation should take, I honestly can't say what I think would be best.

But the suggestion that a roll-back to before the problem took place seems a no-brainer to me. I realise this would mean that those of us unaffected would basically have to repeat what we've done since the problem took place but I'm sure we'd agree that it's only fair to those who have lost cities.

I am, however, rather appalled that no officials (for want of a better word) from Evony have made their presence felt on this thread. People deserve answers so where are they?

VERY WELL SAID! being that I am one who lost a city due to not being able to log in. I fully agree with this. I logged in after 6-7 hours down time to find I had lost a city which also had a holy helm poli hero in it. 86 base down the drain....... I really am beginning to lose interest in Evony
