You never learned that ad hominem statements don't prove your point?

A thread doesnt concern you, doesnt interest you, yet you must feel compelled to post in it.

What a sad existance you have, i shall leave you alone in this thread

You posted the thread in a public location and go all 'Mr. Victimized' when the public dare enter?

    Default Priviate vs. Public

There are a couple things I would like to point out here. They may seem minor yet make all the difference.

What happened to freedom of speech and what not....
This is not a public forum, in that the company hosting the forum, is not owned by the public, nor is UMGE. They both are privately own companies, who chooses to make their forums open the public under their guidelines. They are not governed by the same rules that governments are held to. Public courts and other public entities are held to a different stranded than private companies.

Freedom of speech does not exist here. Our speech (text) here is at the sole pleasure of the board operators. If they so choose, they(UMGE) can close up shop and call it quits, or expand further, There is nothing that says they have to stay in business, they have to provide this forum, or they have to provide the game for free, they do so out good business sense.

And what makes you think they are not?

I have operated a MMOG, and hosted/moderated several forums for several years. The Moderators are held accountable, but not you, or the people using this forum. They are held accountable by the parent company, in this case, UMGE. When a moderator is accused for doing some wrong, the parent company has a way of dealing with the situation. Part of which does not include dragging the incident out in to public view.

This does not leave you without options. No one is holding a gun to your head telling you you have to play this game, or use this forum (at least I hope not).

If you do not like the game or this forum or the way it is being ran you can choose to:

    1. Voice your concerns, to the Moderators or parent company, privately. Your issue would be more apt to get the proper attention it deserves. The moderators keep their dirty laundry out of the forums, you should too.

    2. not to pay or play the game or use the forum. Nothing speak louder than money walking out the door. To me this is the very last option. How much is your business worth to them? Are you playing for free (which has some value) or you paying $1000 per month, and are they willing to change to keep you as a customer?

Now to the Moderator defense. Their job is not an easy one. They have to put their personal opinions aside, and judge each posting on it merit. Does a thread help promote the game, or gameplay? If a punishment needs to be handed out how harsh should it be? Should infractions be cumulative? In my experience, all but one moderator resists banning as punishment. Yet, if pushed they can and will. Let the moderators worry closing threads, or deleting posts, that what they do.

*sighs* Exactly how do you feel you have been wronged, Vulgarwolf? PM me with an answer, and we'll see what we can do.
