The best way to capture a Historic Hero from a player:
Wait for some of your friends that are outraged at losing their Royals to quit, and ask them for theirs.
If you miss out this time, wait a couple months and Evony will do something else that outrages the community and trigger another wave of "retirees" leaving their HH and HC's to their friends.

I thougt you could not capture enemy hero's via uprising anymore

how can you have too many hhs, unless you somehow have too many heros in general. evony encourages players to acquire 50 of them in the form of an achievement, which btw gives a 25% food buff upon completion.

I also mainly want it for the food buff, i want one anyway as i will be going for a level 14 and a HH will aid me so much in it.
Historic Heros offer little advantage when attacking. Their real strength is in defending. Surprise surprise, just another mechanic that favors defense. Lord knows why Evony favors defense so much.... It is not balanced at all. HH's should be just as effective attacking as they are defending.
Anyway, just use regular heros for attacking the L14 or any other HC.

please, enlighten us on how leadership affects attacking more with an hc than a regular city, ichigo. i dont see all that many good explanations on these forums. it happens to be only a couple hours ago i got my first HH, so i cant exactly say how things are different for them.

Since normal heroes are capped at 100 ldrshp, HHs are better to send with attacks of 100,000 or more, because the higher leadership allows the troops to fully function.

Leadership effects the amount of troops a hero can "command".
Nobody understands the leadership metric entirely. It is something new with Age 2. That is why it is not explined so much on the forums.
Nobody knows the exact numbers or exactly how leadership works. There are only guesses. But the bottom line is that a HH has higher leadership. That higher leadership only really kicks in and offers a "bonus" of some sort if the HH is commanding a large number of troops, more than 100k.
So, you can see that if you send from a normal city rally spot with a 125k wave then a HH would offer little advantage. 99% of players do not own HC's. Thus having a HH only really helps once you own an HC and can send large waves. It also helps when defending any city because the leadership metric will add a bonus to a larger number of defending troops compared to a normal hero.
The main purpose of owning HH's is to have them defend.
Rule of thumb, only use your HH's for defending, not attacking.
