I know many people have posted similar things, but I just want to refresh these thoughts.... I'll Be Giving A Guide on Being A Good Player.
On the first day on your server, you should start by making cottages and resource fields...This is good to start off with because they help you with later Troop Training and Building. On your second day, start growing prestige through Hero Quests. Some people, even though their armies may be stronger, are scared of lots of prestige :P Remember, you should still be in Beginner's Protection. On the 3rd and 4th day work on building but still stay within BP. On the 5th and 6th Day Build Troops! 8+ Barracks are the best for this. On the 7th Day Look For a Great Alliance That Will Support You! For Na35 People I hope you join Swords Cause I Host It!
~Try upgrading Academy, Rally Spot, Walls, And Town Hall Together
(Lv.10 NPC is not a good example :P)

I stopped reading after you said something about doing quests for prestige. Good idea, let players kill their own troops to make your alliance look better. Idiot.
