I'm actually a very normal human.
And crazy stuff is about to go down. That's all I said. I didn't say anything about anything about anything else.

Bree red repped me for posting this...
I don't get it.
"I am not a man of blood; God is my witness that, in all of my wars, I have never been the aggressor and that my enemies have been the author of their own calamity." -Timur
"There is no avoiding war; it can only be postponed to the advantage of others." -Niccolo Machiavelli
north korea IS planning to be the most powerful country in 2012... i doubt they will be.
Its impossible to ever know when the world is going to end because there are so many different things going on, and so many possibilities that we cant keep track of all of them. I dont agree with the 2012 theories myself, but something could always happen.
You really should check out those links...

I think what he is saying is that for all we know the world will end in 2012. There is a chance that the world will end every single day in all honesty, especially if parallel universe theory is correct. Just because the chance isn't any higher on 12/21/2012 than, say, today, doesn't mean that the world won't end on that date. But if it does it certainly won't be via any of the fantastic stories people have made up to explain 2012.
That's pretty much the argument, yes. The entire universe could potentially cease to exist at any point of time, and yes, could indeed happen on 12/21/12, but the theory that it's because the Mayans predicted a massive alien invasion on this day from thousands of years ago are... pretty ridiculous.
I suppose if people predict the end of the world will happen for every day, they'll eventually get it right. A broken clock tells the correct time twice a day, after all.
It's all Rodri's fault.
Massive alien invasion? I thought it 'predicted' the alignment and widespread natural disasters.
Recent turmoil and the many MANY recent natural disasters (Earthquakes and Tsunami's in the last year or so) fueled believers, did it not?
The wheels of survival are greased more readily by easy lies than hard truths.
No I agree with you completely. I wasn't supporting the whole "we're all gonna die!" mentality that seems to surround 2012. The entire premise of the world ending on a predicted date is complete bogus. I was countering OOS Spy's rebuke concerning DeSalvionjr's:
"Its impossible to ever know when the world is going to end because there are so many different things going on, and so many possibilities that we cant keep track of all of them. I dont agree with the 2012 theories myself, but something could always happen."
by stating that to say that the world will not end on a certain day with certainty is as foolish as saying it will end on a certain day with certainty, which is the impression I got from OSS's reply to that particular comment. We are not in a position to make claims about the end of the world; to do so only shows forth our self imposed ignorance for all to see. There are matters that are beyond human comprehension or empiricism, and on those matters I feel that the only enlightened viewpoint is that of the agnostic. It is a view I take on religion, a view I take on the existence of alien life. . . and the view I take on the end of the world. There is obvious bias from one direction or the other, for example I believe that there is alien life, and I do not believe that the world will end anytime soon. . . but that is just that: belief. I cannot be certain on the matter, and to say that I am certain is beyond foolish.
So in short, I agree with you. I highly doubt the world will end in 2012. But to say with absolute conviction and certainty that it will not is foolish. The world could end on 12/21/2012, and it could just as likely end tomorrow, or next week. Either way, I still have the alarm on my cell set to go off at 11:00 PM on the 20th. You can never be too careful after all.
I've heard everything from alien invasions, the jesus rapture, the sun exploding and destroying the world, solar flares immolating the entire world, the magnetic poles shifting thus causing the destruction of the world, massive earthquakes which would destroy the world, a huge flood destroying the world, the planets aligning and thus that causing the destruction of the world (?) as well as a massive meteor/asteroid/planetoid which will crash into the world, destroying it. In some cases, all or almost all of this happening simultaneously.
Also, believers will see whatever they want to see. They will link any feasible (and sometimes unfeasible) thing they can to their theory. Some believed that Rapture way back was real because there was a minor earthquake which happened in the Pacific and, despite this being a common occurrence every day, some swore up and down it was indisputable evidence that the Rapture was real.
I assume 12/21/12 will be the same way- someone in Brazil will cough and the believers will proclaim it proves the signs of armageddon were true, if not quite as extensive as they hypothesized.
It's all Rodri's fault.
