Please elaborate on how I am scaring off new members. Am I doing it with words or pictures. Or maybe you are just having a bad day and you think, just because you have been on the forum for 3 month longer than me, have reputation greater then me and more posts that that makes you better than me. Dude please spare me your sob story. My threads are actually about quality and not quantity.

well considering that lazz has less then double your post count and yet has at least five times the reputation, im going to assume that the community thinks a bit more highly of lazz's post quality than yours

I'm a jerk. Does that mean the community is constituted of jerks only? I don't think so.
Also, if being a jerk means understanding the rules, then I don't mind being a jerk.


Now, before you accuse me of breaking the "No flaming, personal attacks or harassment!" rule, know that I didn't:

I did not personally harass the poster, I only said that his post was a waste of space. This does not mean that I think the OP is a waste of oxygen -on the contrary. If he can, as one of those who called me noob (see PS.2), "dig up old archived threads", then he most certainly can offer great guides and/or tips.
Also note that my post was not non-constructive, since I clearly explained that this thread is useless because other threads (one,at least) serving the same purpose and offering the same clearness are already available.


PS: It seems that you think I'm german (since you both spelled my name GermanZ). I'm not related to Germany in any way.

PS.2:

To sum it up, I might have broken one rule (and that could be discussed) by "embarrassing" a member (although, I repeat, I was simply being direct), but some of you guys most definitely did harass me (I don't think that is harassing, but the forum rules say so) or spammed.

I hope I made myself clear. I would have preferred not doing this, but since people have been using accusations against me, I see no choice but to respond.

Actually i had quite a fabulous day yesterday, i got to go to a concert for free and I got paid. "dude" your posts may be about quality/quantity but your posts in this thread were not necessary.

And hmm how would trolling a new members thread be considered scaring him away? Oh because it's nasty and not needed. If you were a new member and made a thread and had this response why would you bother coming back? So what if the thread is dumb. If you don't like it don't post in it it will quickly move to the archives and it wont hurt your sensitive little eyes.

I have to argue again, as my first post (the one your red repped me for, being useless) was not useless. I was explaining that the original post is not needed, since it's some sort of re-posting of an already existing thread.
The rules say the same thing.

Now, was my post mean? Maybe. Was it direct? Definitely. But it was not useless.

I agree, then. Next time, I will PM the OP, or post nicely why he shouldn't have posted here along with some comments on the actual post.

On a side note, I prefer lazz's style of showing me how I was wrong, when compared to cushset who didn't bother explaining why I am a "noob" in his eyes and, to a certain degree, did nothing but troll.

Gotta say I agree with LAzzz ... and that doesn't happen often. . . .
I've been on the forums for over a year and I have never known what it took to become prinz on here. Now I do thanks to this thread. Professor X & GermanZ go do something useful rather then trying to make a new member think we are all jerks over here.

The 3rd one, just as this thread, is obviously a copy/paste work.
However, that one's negative replies (clearly showing that the post is no more than copying/pasting) were not met with "noob, stop scaring the newbs" comments.
