The game has so many issues that are blantantly being ignored, yet the most important thing to Evony right now is opening new servers and implementing a capcha that is unreadable and blocks the player if the answer is incorrect.     every action has an equal and opposite reaction: you make it where we cant put more then a million troops in a vally?
    answer: players bot more to hold more troops so that the need to put troops in a vally is no more

    I agree, someone with some sense realized that closing the threads was basically like telling the cumstomer/player base to shut up and deal with it. Which is not smart to do.

    It's like telling the kid, don't touch that 10 times ... walk away and see what that kid touches. The actions spark the anger which in turns gets the responses that are being given.

    nearly 20 hours after it got closed, another 2 threads got closed, 1 got hidden and a msg to dawnseeker asking why it got reopened

    Sorry, I don't see option (a) happening, although, from previous comments by Evony reps over the years in this forum, that's exactly what Evony believes will happen. A senior Evony executive one stated that Evony never intended people to have army sizes which currently exist.
    Adding to this. Yep, Evony never did intend armies to become as big as they did. But then did they honest expect a war game to stay at a certain level regarding troops. No matter how interesting a game is, if theres no progress that can happen for players, no bigger targets or no ability to to produce a certain number of troops, then the game will fizzle out after a month or two.

    That's why botting started in the first place IMO, they couldn't feed what they had so far so they botted their alt's to produce enough food to keep the game going.

    Davemata made a statement many months back he wanted to eliminate the reasons for botting, not punish those who do it. But now, instead of eliminating the reasons, they're basically capping peoples gameplay via a captcha that can interrupt vital timings in an attempt to stop botters... but isn't this just punishing botters?

    I mean don't get me wrong, I don't bot and botters can be incredibly annoying, especially when they've looped trash at me and I have to sit and rebuild walls for hours on end, but I think Evony's approach to preventing it is all wrong.

    At the moment the Captcha is causing problems. I understand it needs fixing and soon otherwise it's going to drive people crazy.

    If Evony manage to sort it so it's bearable then I agree to it. As for botting a few started it to be the BIG BAD on the server, more followed so they could keep up, now look at the game. Why does everyone feel they need humongous armies to enjoy playing. I've said it before I've had loads more fun spending the week farming and building up and then grabbing a buddy to off load my labor on to the nearest unsuspecting red flag.

    Now it's all farming bots, spending hours accumulating res to feed a huge army that is impossible to be built any other way. That isn't playing a game, it's automated, tell you what forget the PvP and play against the Barbs. After all it's CvC .

    I don't want to see everyone farm otherwise we might as well reset all our accounts now, however neither should we have this system where because you bot you get to the BIG BAD and those who don't are considered acceptable loses. This forum has spent months being filled to the brim of players complaining about the bot problem, Evony have come up with (albeit a flawed one presently) solution and now everyone is moaning that getting rid of the bots will ruin the game. It seems everyone wants their cake and eat it.

    Exactly. It's silly to expect that, in a war game, people will limit their army size. In Evony, the person with the largest army (generally) wins, out of sheer magitude of being able to systematically pick off their opponents' troops while having neglible impact on their own army size.

    If Evony truly wanted to limit the size of people's armies, they could make barracks hold a certain # of troops, let's say 10k x barracks level (so, a lvl 10 barrack could hold 100k troops). Someone with 15 barracks would have a maximum army size of 1.5 million foot troops. Use stables to store cav and cat. Use relief station to store xporters. Use workshop to store mech.

    Yep, they should've controlled what could be built earlier on in the game instead of trying to control it when its well outta hand.

    Well that's probably only because he did set his hopes far to high. What possible solution could there be to stop people botting without changing the entire game? But then in all my history of gaming, I have never seen anyone start banning people for it like evony have done. lol

    but if a player is able to produce and feed legit more troops than a barrack can hold whats stopping him from doing so? and then it goes in a circle of who can feed the most wins, then it goes back around in a circle again, who has more wins
