I'm not going to get into this level playing field argument as it is somewhat obvious that this is a non issue. As lets say someone who is out of work has more time, then someone who works all day... Not level...

Lets just stop this level playing field argument here start a new thread for it.

But I will point this out a "level playing field" is almost uniquely an issue with players in the US. A little bit in Western Europe and fading as you go to the East. Players in Asia players tend not see it as an issue at all and are confused why anyone else would. There is a very good reason for this and I would love to discuss it in another thread, so if you want to chat about it in another thread I would love to talk about.

    I said:

Evony never promised you a "level playing field" with respect to those who spend money and those who have not.

Let's take a moment here to look at that sentence. There is nothing in the Terms that state "you will be on equal footing with everyone". That would be "a level playing field". When I said "with respect to those who spend money and those who have not", what that means is that there was never any guarantee from the company that any of the following is true:

Player A who spends money will be on equal footing with Player B who spends money.

Player C who doesn't spend money will be on equal footing with Player D who doesn't spend money.

Player E who spends money will be on equal footing with Player F who doesn't spend money.

Player G who doesn't spend money will be on equal footing with Player H who spends money.

NONE of those conditions were stated in the Terms.

Now, many of you appear to WANT there to be a situation such as this:

Player I, who cannot afford to spend money and has limited time, will be on equal footing with Player J who can afford to spend money, time, or both.

That's where those of you who have that want start using bots or multiple accounts, as an attempt to obtain that want, an attempt to "level the playing field" that you THINK you deserve.

    As for the second sentence:

What removing botting and multi-accounting does is "level the playing field back to the point of either you spend the time to get the advantage, you spend the money to get the advantage, or both.

Spending additional time to get an advantage is fully ok. It is within the rules of the game. Spending money to get an advantage is fully ok. It is within the rules of the game.

I am someone who both spent money and a whole lot of time in game. I was not promised a "level playing field" against anyone else playing the game within the rules. Those of you that bot and multiaccount are, however, not playing within the rules, so the "leveling of the playing field" that I'm talking about is forcing you all back to playing within the rules of the game.

If you feel that you have to cheat to win, you are not a winner, no matter what you think.

As I have said, there have been enough excuses from you all. If you do not have the time to play, do not play. If you cannot afford to spend money, then don't spend money. Do not, however, attempt to steal from the company and from other players like myself who have put in time and money, all within the rules of the game, all because you think you're entitled to something that you're not entitled to at all. The only "entitlement" you have in this game is to be able to play the game and attempt to have fun. You are not entitled to break the rules so that you feel you have more of a chance for fun.

    Enough excuses...
Thank you, could not have said it better.

You may not say that it is a good thing, but you state, uneqivocably, that they are not to blame:

This means that bots, multi-accounts, account watchers etc., have nothing to do with the lag. The entire server population should be able to be logged in at the same time. If this can not happen, then Evony has allowed to many people access to the server.
Where in here did I say that there was no fairness in the spending of money

Only way to do this is by implementing a free no-coining server and we know that is never going to happen.
    and I was promised such?
Your desire for a "no-coining" server , along with the previous quote, indicates you feel you at the minimum deserve such a thing, even though you may not have outright said that you were promised it.

It's probably also isolated to an age bracket or two.

We are not heavily censoring, except when forum rules are broken, and if you notice Evony staff is not moderating them, forum mods are as well as players are removing their own posts, at least that is what I am seeing from the logs of who removed the posts, I am not sure if a normal forum account can see that data. If we where heavily censoring posts, we would have removed almost all of the posts that are critical of us, as well as the posts that are flat wrong, and there are alot of posts that are flat wrong.
Since I was one that questioned a post of yours, I will take a moment to say thank you for this post. Though you will not see the question I posed to you in here because it was removed. After reading what you posted here in item #1, you may need to have a talk with your staff about posts. I just read the forum rules and do not believe that my post in any way violated the rules. I also do not believe Desi's violated the rules either. Were these posts removed due to staff being questioned? Is this not the place for us to do this? We all are, including staff, breaking the forum rules here with almost every post are we not?

The posts that were removed were not harassing, derogatory, profane, illegal nor were they advertising anything. Still do not know why they were removed. Forum rules, no, moderator views.

1: If you are not an expert on something, you should not pretend to be. Thus the comments on the colorblind and what they can or can not see should not cross your keystrokes if you have never really looked deeply into the condition nor should the limitations or lack of limitations on a Dyslexics ability to correctly identify the letters and numbers in the captcha. For the few, and especially the specific one, that shed some light on the true meaning and possible extent of what Dyslexia can be…a big applause. That needed to be done. As far as the colorblind issues… Thantium dear, I will be glad to pull out that picture that someone posted earlier and show you where your theory of tonal values being strong enough is possibly wrong. Perhaps Desiree can go over it and point out the ones she cannot read with the help of her program or someone who can read them to tell her if she missed something. There are, however, some tonal values that I know from knowing a few colorblind people would be difficult to discern from each other such as the jade on sea green or the light maroon or tan over the pink.

    2. Think about implementing some such feature or finding a captcha that reads the activity of a user before it pops up. If you think about it, if a players account is sitting idle… what are the chances it’s a bot? If the players account is sending a high number of commands into the server that appears above normal… would the chances of it being a bot be higher? If they are average or slightly above normal, then it should not be defending and not likely in favor of the idea of being interrupted by the captcha that may cause a loss on their part. Is there no way to have a captcha triggered by a high increase in the level of activity or severe long-term drop if you must verify a dormant player?

    3. My favorite… Compensation packages and ‘Gifts’. Starting with the 10k ea resource for answering the captcha correctly. Umm… to animate my enthusiasm over this: sits on hind quarters as if doing a neat trick and says “arf arf!” ane waits for the pat on the head. Then bites your hand. Excuse me…. But what kind of fools do you take us for? Our cities produce more than that in a single 10 minutes. That is an insult. Take it away. I believe it was Dawnseeker saying they were against it. While for different reasons than I am, I’m sure, he was right. Get rid of the insulting gift.

    4. The lastly here requires a response for all of the players. When your captcha interrupts a players game and they lose something very valuable to them, say their 600 attack her for this scenario, what exactly are you going to do to appease them?? When they could have saved the hero IF your captcha had not popped up causing the player to fail to close gates during an attack. Keep in mind 10k each resource is simply a joke. That player will be fuming mad and ready to quit. We did not sign up for this game to build up, be proud of what we have only to have something Evony came up with to cause us a great loss when such a loss could have been prevented if Evony had not interfered. It was not part of the game and I will not simply accept you shrugging your shoulders and saying ‘oh well’ or as it seems in the past posts about this… the blatant overlook of what can be done for these situations where the captcha has cause a loss or problem. The chances of this happening is not up for discussion here. Whether great or small…. What do you guys plan on doing to compensate that player who lost their hero in an attack they were trying to defend against when it was the captcha, your program, that caused them to miss closing the gates? Your players want an answer to this.

    LMAO!!!

The funniest thing about this, is that you responded to something I was saying in response to someone else and you do not get it.

I will stop the convo as Thantium has asked, but for your information, I do spend money in the game. Like I said in my first response to you, I was responding in general to an issue that was brought up in this thread and as Thantium pointed out, does not belong in this thread. Though you just assumed that I was on the anti-coining side of the equation.

no let me show u where you conderdict yourself...first post which is in bold u clearly say removing bots lvls the playing field 2nd post you say there will never be a lvl playing field...and u never did anwser my question into which how removing bots changes anything other then possiblity of less latency
you assume that everyone who bots is trying to catch up/get ahead of the game...now know this the avg person who bots does not do these things just face it most people bot because farming is boring and very time comsuming every post you make is one sided and lack any actual facts only your personal thoughts. you are about as smart as the evony team as you really do fail to see the big picture nor do you understand why or what people do things for go do some research get your facts straight then come talk to me till then leave your 1 sided opinions for a different subject at a different time cuz on this subject your clueless

Agreed, and that's why I've never said anything about this aspect, other than that the company should make the images better.

A counter-tactic that bot-makers would then use is a configurable time where the bot is idle. Players will simply test using various amounts of time until they find the setting that causes the least number of popups.

    3. My favorite? Compensation packages and ?Gifts?. Starting with the 10k ea resource for answering the captcha correctly. It was Dave Mata, and I agree wholeheartedly, it's insulting.

That's a fair question to the company that they should answer and make sure they stick to their answer.

    1. I cannot answer this one, through my personal feeling is that 1 out of 4 is legit and the others are just crying such to stop the capthas

    2. This is your most sound idea.

    3. This is silly, reward for what.

    4. Compensation for what, I bet if people answer honestly they have lost more heroes and troops to the lag, the dreaded spinning clock. I would wager that a capthas popping up would be a rare thing during attacks and defending in comparison to what was lost due to the lag caused by the bots.

I've lost troops, heroes due to the lag. It ****ed me off, but I didn't go ranting, I took it in stride. Treated it as if power had gone off or IP dropped. Thou in the future I rather risk a capthas popping up, instead of dealing with the cheaters using bots and their lag. Just as I look forward to the end of multple accounts, the feeder accounts.
