at one point in time it was thought the world was flat, then america was discovered. at one point in time it was thought we were the center of the galaxy then a man with some sense came along.

Isnt this just the pipe dream of the 3 speculaitions of th shape of our universe (thus anything contained within it :P)
there are 3 models; spherical, hyperbolic (globe like - most accepted) and flat.

And i guess(not really its a fact lol)... only had a few astronomy classes on this other galaxies etc are ever expanding and moving away from us in every direction. Its called a, "blue shift", when the light being viewed is in the blue/ moving away spectrum.

id rather not ramble, so i'd just say that one driving by a street sign and seeing a red then through other base colors a blue (as they pass and move further away) color is proof enough given all objects in our universe in EVERY direction are blue shifted from our pov...

the real debate is what happens when a universe reaches peak expansion... does it dissipate or contract/pulse or separate, but i doubt there is much on this in pipe dream forums

Perhaps there isn't really an end/edge to the universe, and the void spans infinitely, while the "expanding of the universe" is simply universal matter spreading into the void not unlike matter would with any other vaccuum of space.

That suggests... I think it's called the Cold-Death end of the universe, where everything is theorized to spread so far apart, particularly heat, the universe becomes too cold to support life and dies off? Yet so long as galaxies (and smaller bodies of mass like stars and planets) hold matter to them with gravitational pull, it may be that such a thing never happens, though galaxies may eventually drift so far apart from one another, contact between them becomes feasibly impossible.

Anyway, to return to the topic, I have found indisputable evidence that the earth is flat:

Some people say God created the Earth. God spelled backwards is dog. What is a dog's favourite toy, besides a stick? A frisbee. What would a flat earth be shaped like? You got it; a frisbee! Coincidence? I THINK NOT.

Obviously a ball or sphere would be a cat's favourite toy, and God and cat have no anagrammatic connection. Only a lolcat would make a round world, and who believes in a lolcat? Totally absurd.
