Thread: Which UK internet supplier is best? + Advice Please

    What router are you using?


    For your internet MAC address:

    Go to your control panel > Network connections > right click the connection you're using > status > support > details (or start menu > accessories > command prompt > enter "ipconfig")
    Check your default gateway (should be something like 192.168.1.1)
    Access that IP address via your web browser.
    You should be prompted for a username and password (try "admin" and "password", it usually is the default setting for most routers I've used; if not, do a quick google search on your router's model default username/pw)

    Once you're in, search for something related to "Router Status" or "Internet Port", and you should see the MAC Address (e.g. 00:11:2B:33:4E:55)

    BT is disgraceful at peak times. Im currently using virgin media with wireless, il post a speed test below.



    Its not bad , paying for 10mb connection so im getting what im paying for.

    Can't sue, they say they'l give up to 10mb, not garunteed 10mb at ALL times.

    I was gonna say that! You stole the one bit I could've helped with!

    Did you get it GC?

    EDIT: I've got some BT Superfast thing...I ran 5 speed tests very close together...Can't post a screenshot unfortunately, but I got (in order):

    Download: 14.48 - 7.82 - 9.38 - 13.65 - 14.37 mbps
    Upload: 1.67 - 1.63 - 1.61 - 1.61 - 1.61 mbps
    Ping: 38 - 176 - 47 - 171 - 155 ms

    My brother was with virgin media and he said whatever you do don't go to them due to the poor customer service and connections he got.
