Default How do you get better?

How is it possible to get better at this game? I build troops up and try to research new stuff but since I wasn't the first person to play the game there will always be someone better than me out there. People who are 100x better than me can come attack me and I can do NOTHING about it.

You could've built 20 warriors with the time it took to come up here and type this, and another 20 by the time you finish reading my post. Look, you just missed out on 40 warriors. And you want to be better? Pff.
If something seems too good to be true, you're supposed to shoot it just in case.

Build and train, keep doing that and you will get better. Capture vallies, medal farm. Read the forums for tips. Do these things and you will improve. And dont be upset if/when you get plundered, it happens and it is a war game. Good luck.

Actually if you join one of the newer servers you can gain a lot of prestige very quickly. I joined not too long ago and im already in the top 100 in my server. All you have to do is follow the beginner quests and it will teach you how to get better.

Keep resources to a minimum, spend them as you get them, dont build fortifications atm as they will get smashed easilly, and keep your gates closed

Good advice. There are multiple threads with this kind of info on them. Search them out and learn.

How do I close gates? Do I have to build gates first?

Build a rally spot if you don't have one already, then click on it. There should be a 'open gate to fight' checkbox.

Its a small check box in the rally point building.

Actually I did that and while I was waiting for them to get done I posted my initial post.
