    Arrow evony and pvp - battle report included

    before you start to troll with replies i was outnumbered, used the wrong combination of troops, etc... please read the whole post and check the report

    i want to say upfront that i am not as much frustrated about the troop loss on this winning battle (i had to trim the army a little because of the food supply) where i lost 3-4 weeks of training time to something that would take me less than a week to make, but the -3,700,000 honor loss what bothers me the most

    i won the battle, but the way the honor was calculated with new defense mechanics doesn't make normal sense, i should have gotten +4million honor for the effort and the WIN and not -4million for being "stupid". at this point, it seems, attacking anyone is just a complete waste of time and what else.

    it now feels as evony has become a time consuming guessing game. not only we can't feed the armies that we put so much time to make, take massive army losses on attacks and honor, we have to guess from patch to patch what works and what's not. i wonder who would keep making this kind of armies to practice with down the road since maintenance of such armies will require to be, pretty much, online 24/7 and benefits non-existent

    since i can't attack anyone and no one can attack me, it feels like there is really nothing to do anymore since you will keep going to 0 honor for being the attacker. without pvp there seems to be no goal anymore.

    to add the salt the reaming troops came empty because evony decided to restart the server and reset what was carried back (something that has been a problem forever and gets no attention)

    before i am done with the post, here's another attack, which I really didn't care about, prior to -3.7million honor loss . all i was trying to do is to take all traps out:

    i still don't get it why i couldn't take traps out, or, only 900 warriors out of 89000 reached the traps?

    evony pvp needs to be fixed before it becomes a fun game again, plz consider making non-pvp servers for the whining crowd (those who play 3 hours a week?), but i doubt most of the game's income comes from the last group

    Seriously. With the (overly) buffed defense mechanics, merely clearing out fortis will net you negative honor. Throw in a goodly amount of defending archers and you can kiss your honor goodbye. Even when you're victorious.

    Having both given and taken, the 100/0 and 0/100 battle mechanism makes this game very cookie cutter. Once the walk through for the cookie cutter city and the cookie cutter method of making it hit Google, the game will slide.

    10,000 or 100,000 or 1,000,000 people with the same army, the same 9 cities, the same tech evolution. The clone wars have begun, yes? I have no usefull suggestions on how to remedy this trend though. Sorry.

    Add On: Yes, prestige and honeor are pointless.

    I don't know, I reviewed your war report and it looks like you got exactly what you deserved in terms of honor loss. Honor is gained by two factors: 1) the quality of the troop you killed and 2) how many of them you killed. Ballista and catapults give/cost HUGE honor when they die. Foot troops....not so much. So the fact that you lost a HUGE amount of the HUGE honor/quality troops and all you killed were low quality troops....I'd say that fight gave you exactly the right amount of honor loss that it should have.

    Holy crap. I can not believe that 17k catapults are so ineffective. That is just so very sad.

    I mean, looking at this battle report, and back with 20/20 vision, the smart move would have been to just make a couple million warriors, and a million archers, and sent them at a two to one mix. It would have taken less resources, way way way less time, been more effective, and resulted in far less time and resources lost. Not to mention your attack would have landed hours sooner and so forth.

    That statement isn't a criticism of you OP. It is a weary annalists of the battle mechanics. This is just crazy. There should be some reward for building an advanced army. At the very least it should preform as well as a mindless zerg of low level troops.

    Seventeen thousand catapults and thirty thousand ballista slaughtered by about that many archers, when you have thirty thousand archers on your side? That is just wearisome. From a logical reality standpoint that is just comical. From a time and effort standpoint, all those mich scripts, all that time training, all those resources, all the freaking food they eat, thats just sad.

    And what's worse? Now walls will have their own catapults in this next patch.

    The honor as a resource cost for a given unit needs to be addressed. Nobody will use cataphracts for that reason alone. (Even though there's other reasons: I run fast, and die)

    Honor from a defender's standpoint vs. an attacker's needs to be addressed. I know too many people that have gotten bucko honor just from friend's reinforcing them. It is always the greater risk for the attacker, so why not award the attack for such a risk. For winning a battle, bonus honor should be given.

    Looking at the Battle Reports that is ridiculous. You had a nice proper setup with your troops and lose tremendously to just cheap unit archers. Something needs to be a bigger reward for slow made units like ballistas and catapults. I'm not saying bring back the invincible ballista, but you should have won with half the losses.

    Wow thanks for the thread but this sucks. Attackers need more benefits.
