depends on your tastes. If you like fantasy, realistic fiction, non-fiction or historical fiction.
fantasy: Harry Potter and Twilight series's
realistic fiction: Most books about crime for teenagers are pretty realistic. You should be safe with those.
non-fiction: If you are into war, start reading about WW1 and WW2. Just about ever library and bookstore has around 30-40 books on that subject.
If you are not a war person, then look into biographies and auto-biographies. Never get the biography when you can get the auto-biography.
historical fiction: Montmorency By Eleanor Updale
Most books by Tamora Pierce, the Lioness Quartet in particular
It really depends on what century you want to read about
All things said and done, it depends on your favorite genre and what your library and bookstore has on hand.

Dark Hunter Series by Sherrilyn Kenyon is a good read. And also The Vampire Huntress series by L.A. Banks. I like them, both very good series imo.

He said 'under 18' though. Both series are rather more adult in tone (I'm a fan of the Dark Hunter series). However, I think Kenyon has released some about Nick that would probably be right about age appropriate, though I'm not 100% sure.
Can never go wrong with Narnia, though.![]()
Special Props To Don Ezio for this!
In war, victory. In peace, vigilance. In death, sacrifice.
Theres nothing too bad in them though. I mean, some parts are a little graphic but nothing that he hasnt watched or heard of Im sure.
And I must agree, Chronicles of Narnia are a good read also.

The Runelords series by David Farland.
The Abhorsen series by Garth Nix
The Gambler by Dostoyevsky. Definitely his best book.
