This is true. Woman and minorities (race) get more scholarships. If there was a scholarship that was only for while males that would be racist and sexist. But having one for only woman is not sexist. The double standards are not making the situation more equal.

There's a reason for this. Because of what's happened in the past, white males already are more likely to have the resources for college, without help. Perhaps it's less pronounced along gender lines, specifically, but culture still plays a large role in it. The misproportion of scholarships is simply a way to level the playing field, as it were.

Are you kidding me? You are saying that white males don't need help because in the past they could more than likely get in without help. If you want to even the playing field give everybody an opportunity at all of them. That gives everybody a fair share at getting the scholarship.

Not at all what I was saying. I'm saying in the past, culture and events have perpetuated in a such a way that today, a man has a better chance of getting to college without help. So yes, today things need to be evened.

It's much more noticeable in the families that don't have so much to pay that way in the first place. The way our culture is, if a low income family has two children,a boy and a girl, and only enough money together to send one to college, the boy is that much more likely to get that money.
