If you expand this topic to include any dream where any of us knew we were dreaming, then all of us have experienced lucid dreaming before. Control over the dream is what I declare is not real and simply imagination.

EDIT: you people are posting too fast and I'm too drunk right now. Go away, acknowledge that I am correct. I'm going to sleep.
No raster, YOU are talking about dreams where you can shape your reality.

WE are talking about Lucid Dreaming.

However, you are correct that you're too drunk right now. All hail the drink.

Apperantly your good with vulgar language when hammered Raster...

On a much more cheerful note, the idea of lucid dreaming has in a sense become a reality. More research will be needed to be conducted for us to even fully grasp its potential.

Erm... Raster, how do define a dream as real? Or controlling a dream, how would you call it fake? If you thought you were going to fly and you started flying, there's no way to say it's coincidence or control. But as far as we know, you controlled it. It happened when you thought it would, you shaped the reality.

Someone needs to define a 'real lucid dream' or just a 'real dream' if this is going to make any sense.

We are far from common sense. To put it simply, lucid dreams can be controlled to an extent, regular dreams cannot.

    Ok look everyone.

    A) I was almost really drunk and really really stoned last night.
    B) I was interpreting lucid dreaming as the first few sentences of the Wikipedia page defined it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucid_dream
    C) There is no C. I didn't really need to make this stupid list.

But I still view lucid dreaming as more than just realizing you are dreaming, that you actively control and shape your dreams in fantastic ways. I'd love to do that. But I can't, it's not real not possible. I will also go so far as to contend that when you are dreaming and think you recognize that and know that you are dreaming, you are actually dreaming that you are sleeping and dreaming and so your awareness of dreaming is only an awareness inside your dream that you are asleep and dreaming; a dream within a dream.

I made a super awesome post like two hours ago but I logged off the computer before it registered I guess. I sat there for like 5 minutes watching spinning circles telling me it was posting but nothing appeared. Unfortunately, the world has lost a brilliant shining idea because I don't remember what I wrote anymore.

I have been reading about lucid dreaming, and other topics similarly related to this subject. I plan on attempting to put myself into a lucid dreaming state while I take my nap. I can't promise anything, but I'll be back in about 2 hours.
