People People People. Dont you know by now. There is no lag whatsoever. What you experience is a part of the game. That clock that is constantly spinning is to tell you how much time you are wasting on this game. When you get constantly booted out, its your computer telling you to get a life. If you are experiencing the thing that is lag, it is all because of you. You have a weak computer, you have viruses, spyware, trojans on your computer. Last but not least: people you need to get a better connection. Even if you are on 500/100gb/s connection it is to weak to have 1 single browser page open and play an online game. You people dont know anything. This is not evonys fault. It is yours! (sarcasm off)

I just recently came back to playing, and i can say there's no lag whatsoever on the server i started on, spinning clock maybe once, twice a day when i'm playing 14-16 hours a day on average atm and i just refresh and it's gone. I see others complaining about it all the time, but the only time i experience it is when i'm downloading. I do get 1 mb down/128 up, but that's pretty normal nowadays would be my guess as i live in a very small state and don't spend much on my internet connection. My computer is probably an average 400$ computer now, as it's getting rather old.

This may belong in the "contemplations" thread, but I want to ask the question anyway, because I do not know the answer, nor do I understand the viewpoints I'm hearing.

    What is "positive feedback"?

I'm hearing that positive feedback and/or constructive criticism should come in the form of a sandwich, meaning a soft and gentle, perhaps praising statement at first, the feedback/criticism in the middle for the "meat", then a soft and gentle close.

This is all well and good, but if that produces no results, then what? Continue that way? If yes, how many times? If no, then how to proceed? Walk away?

It's my opinion that we as a society have become too fragile. Positive feelings are favored over factual discussions and quantifiable results. Yes, people should frame criticism nicely, but people should also not be so easily bruised.

People that have an issue want that issue resolved. If they did not want the issue resolved, then they would typically not speak out about the issue. When the request for resolution is made politely the first, second, third, fifth, or tenth time (or more), is that beneficial, or does the passiveness / lack of assertiveness act as an indicator of it not being that big of an issue, enabling the issue to be pushed back / marginalized / trivialized?

    When is enough enough? Never?

Is it realistic to expect customers to be meek, passive and respectful after months of problems and denial of the existence of those problems?

Do customers receive respectful "I'm sorry you feel this way" or "I understand how that might make you feel..." responses from the company? In other words are the communication protocol expectations one-sided or mutual?

Is the act of customers walking away from the discussion truly preferable to fact-based discussion?

What are reasonable expectations that customers should have?

It has been indicated that "bad attitudes" are undesireable, but is assertiveness and wanting problem resolution being labeled as a "bad attitude"?

I'm truly confused by the expectations of the company as they relate to what they see as reasonable customer expectations and how they expect customers to convey something that is not meeting those reasonable expectations back to the company for the company to work on the customer's issue in a cooperative manner with the customer.

I'm on SS47, we don't have captcha. But we have a horrible lag!! It's getting beyond unbearable. I have players losing heroes because of it, not to mention that defending becomes almost impossible, timed and coordinated attacks are a joke.

I have complained to Evony about this, and my response I got from them blamed my computer. I am sorry, but there is nothing wrong with my computer. But can anyone tell me why, if I send an attack, log out and log back in (to try to fix the lag) why the arrival/landing time changes? I have had discrepancies of up to 6 seconds because of this... that's not my computers fault, that all leads back to an Evony server network issues.

The lag problem is essentially due to greed. ISPs refuse to allow for higher bandwidth speeds (USA worst of all) unless the consumer is willing to pay much more for the service. That is the technical end of it.
The evony end of it is just as everyone else has been saying, due to CAPTCHAs and the botter problem.

I personally do NOT wish to deal with lag, no matter the circumstance, hence, I've already killed off all my server accounts except for 1. At this point I'm down to my last (1 and only) account on SS37 (started on s1). It has over 3 years of play time put in, never once used a bot (nor have I ever wanted to), many valuable goodies. I'm at the point that I could very easily walk away from it or even just hit reset and be done. Problem: After so much hard work and play time put into making the account what it is, the sentimental value is nearly too much to throw away.

As of lately though, I'm spending much more time on Castlot. NO lag, NO stupid maintenance every night, and tons more stuff to do (so much I have a hard time following some, and I'm a physicist!)

Either way, Evony won't ever see another penny of my money as long as so many problems stick with the game.

I think it is your computer... I joined SS47 about a month ago and never had any lag issues at all. The only issue I've had is not flipping gates in time but that's lazy defending not lag.

There however a queue time lag on the senders waves but I notified Dave mata about this on another server months ago which causes the attack to hit about 10 to 60 seconds after the timer indicates but there isn't any issue for the defender.

I agree with the increased bandwidth requirement, and for no additional game playing benefit either.

I pay for my bandwidth and it's expensive, so I log it.
I used to be able to play with 1GB per month, then I needed 2GB, now 8GB isn't enough.

The lag is terrible on SS50 also. World Chat is no longer filled with alliances taunting each other... now it is just complaints about lag and how long it took everyone to log in...
