A long story shall follow...
I think she still reads what I write, but that's cool anyway.
For me the biggest scourge was also the one that made the game the most amusing, her name was Stitches, and she was craaaazy.
My little tale goes like this, on Server 2 I joined a small but funny Alliance, they weren't the best players, but they were some of the most innately aggressive I've ever seen. One day Stitches decides she will attack our Alliance hosts main city (not knowing he was our host as it was his 2nd account) and capture it.
Well, needless to say he was NOT happy; he immediately declared war on her Alliance (despite the fact that we were #47 and they were #10 at the time) and launched retaliation attacks against multiple members of Stitches alliance, thus ensuring real war.
At the time I was between 4 and 10 miles of not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, but 5 members of said alliance, 3 of which had 100,000 prestige or more, and 2 of which (the closest one included!) had equal prestige to me (I believe we were at 200k at the time). I was not terribly happy with the situation as I was one of the stronger members of the alliance, and so I couldn't help and also was constantly anxious about incoming fire.
I continued to grow my forces and stalemate the enemy members surrounding my towns, checking in neurotically throughout the day to make sure I wasnt being marauded, reinforcing troops to alliance mates under attack when I could and watching the war unfold.
Then things, as they always do, changed. One of my nearby alliance mates got attacked 20 times in one night, so I sent a message to the attacker via a show of arms, knocking out all their troops in the nearby town to give my alliance mate a chance to rebuild. Apparently stitches thought that was the worst thing ever...
I wake up the next day to find my little bird frantically blinking red, and my Enemy tab filled with incoming attacks. About 9 different people from various distances had launched attacks against me, including the people right next door to my towns. Right before the attacks had been launched I received a mail from some random lowbie asking if she could join our alliance. Suspicious I ignored it (not wanting to reveal I was online) and asked no one to invite her, but a little later an officer invited her not having seen my warning.
Immediately this new comer begins asking me tons of questions in alliance chat about the attack on me, how I feel about it, will I win? Who is attacking? How long til they get there? It is clearly a spy (I later discover it was at Stitches behest, the member I attackeds second account) so I feed them a lot of misinformation for them to relay to their Alliance mates. Stitches also launched an attack on me in the middle of the other attacks, not wanting to instigate war against me and not look like she is participating. I warn my neighbors that should I survive I will put all my efforts into smashing them if they continue to attack. They say they can't help it, their alliance pressured them into attacking so they must.
Predictably they attack me, and I manage to defend through clever gate tactics and reinforcements, after seeing that the close by attacks fail Stitches recalls her attacks before they are put into danger. She then bombards me and a fellow Alliance member with whispers, threats, curses, etc.
I retaliate against the people who attacked me, as I said I would only to receive mails about how mean and unfair I am from Stitches, what a jerk I am and how much she hates me. She then organizes a joint attack on my other alliance mate, who I reinforce to defend, luckily just in time. This results in more whisper spamming from Stitches about how we are mean jerks. We then get new messages from other members of her alliance who are "going to destroy us" at Stitches behest.
She continues to try to goad us now with pretty soothing words like "oh dont take it out on our other members, just take it out on me, attack me only!" in an attempt to get us to launch large scale attacks against her towns when she is online (hoping to inflict reinforcement damage on us I imagine). She continues to call us names and launch quick strikes on other smaller defenseless alliance members to goad us more. We exchange a few town hit & runs during the NPC nerfs.
Eventually she combine attacks and destroy my other alliance mate, and we combine and destroy most of her towns. She begins abandoning her towns and consolidating in one town, claiming she is going to quit and telling us we should just take her stuff. So you'd think the story ends there right?
Well she CONTINUES to hang on to this one town launching quick archer strikes against small members, and occasionally whispering how much I suck for killing her friend (who attacked me first). She seems to settle down a bit and offers her town up to me to test my scout attack theory on. Thinking since she is quitting anyway she probably is done with the feuding I launch my 100k scouts on her town only to find she is online and closed her gates seconds before my scouts arrived. Even with her alliance broken, her towns gone, her claims of quitting she STILL manages to find a way through diplomacy to inflict some losses.
Kudos to stitches, the most manipulative, craziest player I've ever met. It was a hoot talking and playing with you.
