Pretty much. I mean, theoretically we could drift into the path of one, but the odds of it happening are astronomically low (pun not intended, but apt), and scientists would know about it years before it happened (news update: don't expect it for the next thousands of years or so).

From what I understand, however, fate has decided to end the world at the end of the Mayan calendar cycle (opposed to the end of our own calendar(s), obviously fate likes Mayans more than Romans or the Catholic Church) in ways including, but not limited to:

1. Earthquakes.
2. Tsunamis.
3. Volcanoes.
4. Earth will instantly and completely freeze over in an ice age.
5. The Rapture (again).
6. The magnetic poles will shift.
7. Solar flares (?).
8. The solar system will align, thus causing the world/solar system/galaxy/universe to implode (???).
9. Aliens.
10. Probably other things I missed.

Any combination of them are expected to happen all at the same instant, including the possibility of every single one happening at once.

Get ready guys, it's going to be like an epic fireworks display of cosmic proportions for about a whole yoctosecond before everything goes black.

The fear generated by this even, is creating revenue for for those who are taking advantage of it.

Some groups have invested a lot of money to build an underground habitat, which suppose to protect them from Earthquake and major disasters for months to a year, if it doesn't burried them completely making re-surfacing impossible.

Major disaster have always created revenue, like hurricane, tsunami watch etc.
In Hawaii, during one major hurricane, a super market even went to raise the price on batteries, and goods that was part of the emergency supplies. They eventually got sued.. lol


I for one don't believe it will happen.. but to be safe we are digging a 2 level basement in my parents backyard... make that 1 and half, any deeper we would hit water.. Also bought 1 year supplies.
Now we are ready for the fire works.

Nice.. Alot of people were buying Abandon missile silo, I knew someone who bought one for 100k and now worth several times over.
