In 2012 the world will...

Revolve around the sun 1 full rotation and spin on it's axis 365 1/4 times.
In other words, the sun will rise, the sun will set and the seasons will change every 3 months or so in most parts of the world, except for those places on or near the equator, which have a different cycle of seasonal change than places nearer to the poles.

There are some places in the world where natural disasters will occur, such as floods, fires and earthquakes. There are some places in the world where political unrest will cause disruptions to ordinary activity and other places where war will either start or continue or perhaps some places will see wars end and recovery begin.

Some people will get rich and some will lose everything they own and others will just get by, the same as they always have. People will die from accidental causes and diseases but babies will still be born and some of them will live a full life.

The future will be a struggle for survival for quite a large percentage of the world's population but then again, it always has been that way. Some will turn to drink, others will turn to their religion, others will feel as if everyone and everything is wrong, except for themselves because they know the "truth".

One final prediction.
The shops will be very busy from December 22 to December 24 as people try to buy happiness for themselves and their families for a day because it is a calendar day that we all know and accept, without really understanding what the significance of that day is, or how it came to be a "special day" at this particular time of year.

Since I won't have to be in school..

By the way, when's the next soonest doomsday that's going to happen, after December 21st? I'd like to think it's far enough away we don't have to hear about it all the time like we have the last decade with the last dozen doomsdays (including 12/21/12), but chances are they'll invent a new one for 2013 or 2014 and every few years after so there's always one soon in the coming.
