How would you survive a zombie apocalypse?

I think its prolly a good idea to wear that padding and guard equipment ice hockey players use to protect themselves during games. This could help

provide just enough protection against any stray zombies while you might be foraging thru department stores or w/e gathering supplies. Although

zombies truly are nasty creatures lets face it they still only have human teeth so this type of equipment could prove useful and give the wearer that

extra few seconds he/she would need to react and dispose of the attacking zombie before any fatal bite was received...

Step 1: visit all firearms stores in town. take as much ammo as i can fit in a cars of any family member not infected. (and any weopons i dont have) Also visit Police lock up, and the local millitary barracks. (all have weopons and ammo.
Step 2: stop at shops preferably the ones in smaller towns (less likey to run into mass zombies), Aquire as much canned food as i can and as many lighters as i can. (fire is allways helpfull.)
step 3: Drive to mates farm 1.5 hrs out of town.
step 4: muster as many sheep/cows/various other animals into a safe pen. Build better fences around said yard.
Step 5: fortify House or Shearing shed (probally shearing shed cause its raised off the ground thus allready a better defencive location.)

step 6: COME AT ME ZOMBIE BRO!!!!!!!!

The Walking Dead, right now, is a terrible television show. But, it has immense potential. I haven't read the comic books, I want to and should probably go look for a torrent right now, but from what I hear they will be leaving the farm (I don't know exactly how long) shortly and finding a new permanent home.

The show is bad because of the following reasons:

1) The acting is terrible.
2) They add too many inconsequential soap opera-y moments of drama about NOTHING IMPORTANT.
3) That goddamn RV, they shouldn't be driving it. They shouldn't be driving into giant accidents on the highway. There's no way that zombie mass brigade wouldn't have WHITE TEXT SPOILER seen them while they were hiding under the cars. There would have been a zombie toddler or one crawling along on the ground or one would have fallen or smelled or heard. They should all be dead right now.
4) It's too slow. The fights aren't that great. They don't make good decisions. They are just rambling along with no direction. They should have ran out of water long long ago.

After watching season 2, i am a little dissapointed. I like it where it left off on season 1. i was hook then.
I would have to agree with you there, they strayed away from what makes the zombie story fun. It supposed to be contagious like in residence Evil.

If I was there, I would have suggested many things.
-Semi truck with flat bed and trailers, several of them and drivers, 3 per trucks.
-Water supply and to haul it.
-Foods supply
-Doctors, several Doctors the more the better; don't forget the hot nurses it's a must.
-Carpenters, if you have trouble grab the nearest mexicans, i am sure they can build anything.
-Look for motor cycles and fuel for scouting and quads is a plus.
-I would look for bulldozer or a digger to dig holes around semi permanent camp leaving only 2 entry point. Then build an extendable or foldable walls behind 2 of the semi trucks, each wall extend wider than the entry point with a gate build in.
Look for those large bus with a/c and convert it into an rv and reinforce the window, make sure it has a roof hatch.
-Look for solar panel and collect as many batteries I can fine and wires.
The list can be endless.

See, I like the premise of the show. The people we are watching are not given super intelligence or foresight. They are reacting to every situation like normal people in real life would and they are not given any over the top mind blowing weapons or super crazy cool plans. That's what I like, that they are real people with real short comings.

But, I don't like any of the characters. Not because they are all bad, but because none of them are very good actors and it's not believable at all. In some instances they have done thing totally different than the comic book did: WHITE TEXT SPOILER Shane was killed already, the farm didn't exist at all in the comic books and the best characters are not from the comic either. They kinda have to change things up so there is some suspense for the people that have already read the comics.
