How would you survive a zombie apocalypse?

d we still need to establish what kind of zombies we're facing, modern day mutants or the zombies that were in movies in the past.

What kind of zombies do you want?

I want both fast and slow. Here's a short piece I posted on reddit about this very subject.

My desired scenario would be a combination of all, essentially. A lot of people aren't suitable for extended undead existence, they're fat and slow or crippled and cannot walk or skinny and weak and deteriorate too quickly. They will be easy to corral, manipulate and trick and easy to kill.

However, the stronger more resilient infected will survive and large pockets of semi organized, more intelligent and agile undead will begin to form outside of urban areas. They won't retain much of their human intelligence but they won't just stumble alone towards humans as easy targets. They'll group together and survive because of their zerg attacks, they will recognize this advantage through instinct and learned experience and remain together to maintain (and increase) the herd population. Maybe they won't even recognize it, they'll just group together out of happenstance. Whatever the reason within these groups will be made of the strongest and healthiest and a group of alpha leaders will rise. They won't issue commands or orders, they will just have large packs of followers eager to enjoy the spoils of success and they will remain together because they are getting what they want. Our ability (or lack thereof) to conquer these herds will determine whether or not we eventually reclaim the planet.

I see no reason to belief they will evolve into a smarter, more dangerous mutation. They don't breed, evolution (as we explain it) cannot occur. I don't think they will become more human (or regain intelligence) as time goes on, in fact I would assume the opposite. Their power is in their numbers and without the ability to reproduce their attack against us will not be a war, just one long drawn out battle that must be lost by us for them to win. If a sizable population of humans remain alive after a few weeks/months there will be far fewer infected left to fight, a large percent having succumbed to the ravages of nature.

Yeah, I want fast zombies. If they are all slow then it would be too easy and over in like a weekend. I want it to totally tear down culture and society.

This way it is survival of the fittest and wittiest.
I think the world could use less idiots messing things for the rest of us j/k.

I think my best strategy for survivng this type of apocalypse, is by having lots of white women as friends. In a worse case scenerio, they tend to trip and fall for no reason when being chased like all the horror, action and drama movies, giving the rest of us time to get away.
Besides, whites folks have no fear, they swim with shark, play with deadly snakes, feed and play lions and tiger and the list can go on.

Spoiler Alert for those who are watching The Walking dead Season 1.



Well, i would be a Deputy before hand and i was shot and ended up in a coma for an indeterminate time. When I awaken, I finds a post-apocalyptic world overrun with the walking dead. I would leave the hospital and discovers my wife and son are missing. Deputy Hunter (or what my friends call me JJ) arm himslef and, after hearing a rumor from a survivor, I would start my journey to Atlanta, where the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is said to have set up a quarantined safe-zone in the city and where my family may be hiding. During this journey, I would see the devastation left by the "walkers" (a nickname given to the zombies by me .). Upon reaching Atlanta, I soon discovers that the city is overrun by the undead and is no longer safe.

A few miles outside the city, JJ's wife Allie (short for allison) and his son Dee (Full name will be Dee-Mon Hunter ) have been hiding from the walkers with (this person doesn't want his name to be reviled, so we will Call him Paul), JJ's former colleague and best friend. (well i guess he is now... everyone else is dead) They have established a camp with a small group of survivors from around the country. After I was rescued from Atlanta by the group and reunited with Allie and Dee, I assume command position with **Paul** and must take responsibility not only for my family but also for the survival of the group. Part of the group goes back into Atlanta to recover weapons, where they come into conflict with other survivors, but JJ soon eases the tensions. However, on their return to their camp, they find it has been nearly overrun by walkers. Hoping to find medical treatment for an injured member, the remainder decide to return to Atlanta and seek aid from the CDC.

In the CDC "safezone", all but one staff member, Dr. Blake Downs, have either fled or killed themselves. Dr. Downs explains his research into the cause of the "zombie apocalypse". But the CDC building is not the safe haven the group believed. The following day, lack of fuel for the generators causes certain safety protocols to be initiated, which will result in the destruction of the CDC. Dr. Downs explains that the French may have found a cure, as they survived the longest in their labs. Dr. Downs and Kyle, a member of JJ's group, elect to stay in the CDC despite the impending explosion. Before the group flees, Dr. Downs whispers something into JJ's ear. The group escapes just as Downs and Kyle are killed by the building's self-destruct sequence.

3. There’s a voice that keeps on calling me, Down the road is where I’ll always be. Every stop I make, I’ll make a new friend. Can’t stay for long, just turn around and I’m gone again. Maybe tomorrow, I’ll want to settle down, Until tomorrow, I’ll just keep moving on.

Gotta be in shape cause there's gonna be alot of running ..but i would probably be a loner so that you couldnt get tied down with the emotional baggage of losing friends (which would most likely happen in that specific situation) and that if I were in danger nobody would be worried about risking their life to save me. I would go somewhere in the desert where the human population was the least before the infection and take my stand there.
