Thread: Keylogger on my account

  1. #1

    Default Keylogger on my account

Fair warning, I got hit by a keylogger tonight. Not sure how, not sure when. But I logged on to find myself in a new alliance with my troops reinforcing someone else in another alliance I was never associated with. Over the course of the next hour I was booted from the game because another computer logged into my account, I changed all my PWs, was booted again. Happened several times over. When I checked my sent mail I found mails sent to an account I didn't recognize with log in and PW info.

When I whispered them they were all super sketch and replied with "this is a new owner."

To my knowledge a keylogger is on your personal computer. So in order for someone to use it, you would have had to open something, probably via skype, or e-mail, to allow the keylogger to infiltrate. I would suggest running a scan via your virus software. And don't quote me on this, but you should be able to track the source once you find the logger.

    Yeah, thanks genius.

I don't need you telling me what to do now. It's over and done with, I'm just posting a public service announcement.

no need for rude sarcasm, was just trying to be helpful, and suggest a way you could reasonably find out who did it, so you could more effectively warn people away from the person responsible. I'm sorry i wasted your time trying to be nice.

This wasn't like that. Your girlfriend was clearly account sharing with your host.

Someone had logged into my account, changed my ID with the 1 new ID item I had, got booted from my alliance, joined a new alliance, reinforced someone, got booted from that alliance, joined another alliance and was made presbyter immediately.

A few minutes after I finally got control of the account back all the troops that were reinforcing this mysterious other person were dismissed. I whispered them and tried to get some info but after a minute they knew I wasn't not-me and turned super sketch.

When trying to get my account back, I reset both my Evony and gmail PWs multiple times, and each time I was able to log back onto my Evony account only to be booted back off a few moments later.

Mail Evony and get them to disable the secondary email and the possible facebook link.
No, I am probably not from your server. Yes, I do feel I can comment in your forum. And yes, I do think flaming on the internet is hilarious to watch. Nor do I require an avatar.

I had no secondary email attached to the account and Age II isn't up to 159 servers yet.

I'm not here asking for advice guys, I know what happened and while I am embarrassed by somehow being breached, am just (as I said in the opening words of my first post) giving everyone fair warning of what happened to me.

You may not have had a secondary email attached but the "new owner" might have.

Thank you for your concern, but no. Again, I am not here looking for advice or asking questions.
