However, now i have had time to process the OP ( i got lost some where along the way with the replies so sorry if it has already been said)

Sight, is the act of seeing light reflecting of objects through the lenses in our eyes that sends the images back to our brain that processes the data into sight.

Black, is the absence of light. It is not a colour, its is basically nothing.

Therefore blind people have an absence of light in their life, so they see nothing therefore see black. Stand in a room with no windows, close the door, turn off the lights if you cant see your hand in front of your face.... welcome to what its like to be blind. Ive done it, its rather freaky.
Yes but since a blind person has no knowledge of colours/shades how can you define what they see as black since they cant technically see anything? Or how does standing in a room with all lights/etc off we still don't know what its like to be blind as we dont have the other heightened senses that people that are blind have.

They don't have heightened senses, they just pay attention to them more.

That kind old lady stopped the rain for us.
She said it would only make us cold, and miserable, and sick.
We thanked her and hugged her and she walked away smiling warmly.
    I miss the puddles...

Even a person with sight, if they're kept in a room that's in completely darkness or even just very dark and u can still see somewhat, you're other senses are going to heighten.... POW's have written about it at least so i know that part to be true.
