So, just to be clear, you FB-haters hate it because you feel left out? :O
That's not the vibe I got; the vibe I got is that some people are annoyed that Facebook is becoming, for them, less of an option and more of an unwanted necessity.
It's all Rodri's fault.
Mm, I only use facebook for my 20ammys a day and the free penicilin/warhorn/corselet. I will admit my fb account contains no personal details, not even a photoim a bit like lucas, paranoid about someone stealing my personal information. Also with a rise in dodgy people I would feel very unsafe with stalkers/thiefs.
an example:
There was a news special in NewZealand where the host went onto FB searching round friends of friends that he had never met (and had public information allowed), he managed to find a single mother who had posted something along the lines of "arghh.. got an 8 hour shift at **** today cant go to the party". Also searching through her posts he discovered her home location and from looking at her "status" saw she was single. He proved putting two and two together you could have easily robbed the house.
^ this is why I have NO personal details on my FB![]()
None of those really tell me things about Facebook itself that people dislike...
The only exception being the phone verification. Lucas's is just paranoia, and Kitti's second one is a 'what if/could be' (Which, by the way, is easily monitored. Ask your kid to login, and then you [the parent] parooze around their account... Don't give them time to delete stuffs either. OR, get with the times and make an account XD).
Kitti's other point about gossip is, well, pretty lackluster... All people gossip about stupid stuff. The fact that they're gossiping about stuff on facebook isn't a gamechanger...
Any other generic complaints (People post silly statuses, they can find out my identity... blah blah blah) can be easily remedied by what Flamesy said. Only add your friends. As well as, putting limited data on facebook and being a smart person in general.
So again:

Lol, it's funny how you say at the end "being a smart person in general". The truth of the matter is that most people who use facebook aren't smart (I know that isn't a fair thing to say but sometimes when I open facebook... it's the only conclusion that can be made) they don't watch what they post, they aren't careful with who they friend and they spew out every bit of personal detail imaginable for all to see. Now granted that is there profile and there choices, but if your a close friend with one of these people and because of there actions on facebook they are threatened in real life or you know this threatening scenario is a possibility, then your gonna hate the dangers face creates.
Taking all that in mind I do think that the opinions listed in Alusair's post are valid reasons why people would dislike facebook :P
Oh and just to give my own opinion on facebook, I don't hate it, in fact, it provides me with the occasional good night of drama enthused reading :P. Im just wary of it.
Exactly! Nice summary
I think you have some sort of deep personal vendetta inside you to go against everything I say. Why so angsty, bruh? I realize that everyone's entitled to their opinions, but when you come up in my thread stating I have a lackluster point, your opinion is invalid, as you don't know wth you're talking about.
I didn't go into detail about the gossiping, frankly the whole concept is annoying. But it IS valid, and not lackluster in any way shape or form. Gossiping, blubbering IDIOTS have been a direct cause of serious matters that effect me personally, and I do not appreciate you throwing your 2 cents in because you ASSUME too much. We all know what happens when you ASSUME, don't we??I thank you for your input, but truly? It's just how Alu said:
Do you not like me or something E?? You mean lil cyber bully you!I'm SORRY I don't like your Canucks...but don't take it out on me in your responses to my posts!
*kidding*
The part in red? Precisely my point about these ignorant kids/young adults...
Even the freakin Superbowl is caught up in the FB madness! You and 10 of your friends have a chance to win tickets to the Superbowl!! Go to your FB and decide who your 10 friends would be!!!![]()
Although such a generalization is probably true, those are the users; Not FB. FB has put in place the needed security and privacy features to stop said 'threats' and other abuse. Users need only use them. If you search me on facebook, you will see my name (Which you would already have, since you're searching me), as well as my profile picture. I think my gender would be on there too, and that's it...
This is pretty much my opinion of FB. I login maybe once every two weeks. I just like arguing (:<
As I said in my post: They were not raisins why people dislike facebook, only it's less-intelligent and malicious users (Of which the former they have no control over and the latter are easily held at bay by those who use facebook properly). Also, in the case of MKitti's complaint about FB being required for other apps, she's really complaining about the creators of those specific apps, not FB. I have yet to hear a raisin why people dislike FB itself, the only exception being the phone verification thingy. Does it have a bad interface? Lack security/privacy? Encourage abuse? Improperly educate it's users? Not have a dislike button? etc etc. Those would be proper raisins for FB hatred. As it stands, this thread should be re-named to the Anti-Silly-FB-Users Movement XD
Read ninja text above^Also, I only meant your point was lackluster in the sense of incriminating FB -->itself<-- as hateable.
Again, complaints about blubbering idiots. Not FB
:O Me? Cyber-bullying? Nuh uh! And how could any1 not like teh kitti? :P
*checks standings* Dag-nabbit, last time I checked we were ahead of you guys... Now you're up by 4pts. Don't fret though, we'll retake that lead :P
Complaints about ignorant kids/adults and the bigwigs at the NFL, not FB :P
