Here's the caveat, though. Opposing troops move toward your ballistae, while your ballistae move forward. Once there are troops in range, they stop and unleash death. When the troops are gone, they'll inch forward again, until another advancing column is in their crosshairs. Then, once they're done with all the moving troops, they'll get in range to fire at the ATs. This "myth" has some credibility if ballistae move forward fast enough to fire at incoming troops, but at the same time ending up within range of the opposing ATs (which outshoot them). Just a theory, don't quote me on this. And no, I refuse to tear down my Academies to test this out. I'd rather take a few losses![]()
