I'll agree with that. I've trained with the ROK Marines before, and those guys are no joke.

Suddenly Sarah Palin tells America that we need to stick with our North Korean allies.

And when I said nuclear power, I didn't mean they have nukes and would use them against SK. Just that they have the technology lol.... and their air force is pretty damn good. As for the starving part.. yea... they're starving... but nowhere near as much as the rest of their country (as in the military personnel get more food than civilians).

Honestly, the Korean War could have been, WWIII (Why did China help NK? Oh yea, the whole America/SK forces pushing against the NK border)
In June 1950 , South Korea surprised North Korea and advanced upwards , and into China , North Korea , simply said screw this , flipped the way the whole war was going , North Korea had one main city left , but still managed to take the whole peninsula , Until the U.S intervened and put the peninsula back to where it started.

Thus , South Korea had North Korea in the palm of it's hands , but just with a simple mindset change , North Korea annialated the South , and without the help of the US there would be no South and North Korea.

    Elaborating on Acer's post.

The fact that the two countries have suffered severe conflict for over 900 years and is still on going , proves the fact i would never stand up for Britain , also , do you really believe India are more Trained than the Royal Marines Commandos

India has more guns, bullets, and people than the Royal Marine Commandos. Same concept if America were to go up against China. Would never happen.

Gonzo, where to begin .... General Chesty Puller, went into the north to occupy the chosin reservoir, for one purpose and one purpose only. AND that was to retrieve the weapons grade plutonium 239, that had been produced there. That reservoir was built to generate the power needed to refine such material, and as a consequence could not at the time fall into communist hands. An innumerable amount of marines, died on the retreat from that mission. But the mission was successful. for it stemmed the developement of nuclear armament by the chi-coms and the north k's. Truman sold the russians the technology, for a bag of magic beans. but thats another thread.

Had, the US wanted to "occupy" the north for the purpose of just being there? No doubt, they could have. But that was not the mission. Also, if you remember, McArthur, was advancing with alacrity, the adeptness of war that that man had, remains incomparable to any other of the 20th century. However, whenever he told Truman the aichhole what his plans were, what his strategy was, what his manuevers were, old puke face clothier Truman went to the "UN" and told the chi-coms and the north k's wtf McArthur was a going to do, before he did it. In my view, that is Treasonous of the worst sort. and by a president. oh the morons that lead great nations. When McArthur gave a press conference to that fact, Truman fired him. and put in a boob, who dragged the war into atrition. Peace talks, puked out fallacy after fallacy, until you have what you have this day. Gonzo, please refrain from any more statements that make you look, at least to me, that you are oblivious to the actualities of the real world.

    thankyou,

    King Alboin.

Same thing happened in Vietnam. Johnson called off the bombing of the north to appease whoever he was trying to appease... which granted the VietKong free access to the Ho Chi Minh trail and the south. If the bombers had continued strategically striking VietKong HVTs, the war would've ended completely different than it did.
