Pretty sure my static cities were running anywhere between -25 and -30 and my warcity had anywhere between -100 and -500 when I still played.

Thank you hostile feeder alliances, you fed me so well. <3

yeah age 1 is very differant in troop counts as everyone has allready mentioned.

    for someone of my size:

    farm towns need:
    200k-500k arch
100k-2 mill scouts (spreading scouts upkeep between citys)
10k of each layer, minus phracts (Note: 1k phract layer, as most farm towns will not need them, Note2: anywhere up to 100k cavs, for fast resource movement)

At least 25k ballista (more is better) and 10k+ pults.

i am not ashamed to say, i dont have that in most citys, in fact almost every city. i dont like farming lol.

War city (Not a stupid war city)
    10k -100k workers
    100k-300k warriors
5 mill+ scouts. (more the better.)
    100k pikes
    100k swords
2 mil arch (more the better)
    250k cav (takin lvl 10s)
100k phracts(incase the oppertunity for a smack arises)
500k-2 mill porters (more the better)
    100k-300k ballista
50k-100k rams (allways wanted to do a ramslam myself. never had em in places when i could have used em)
50k-200k pults (Pults are harder to feed, so i tend to carry far less of them then i do ballista)

Stupid war city (or mega Holiday driven city)
    500k workers
    1 mill warrors
    100 mill scouts
    1 mill pikes
    1 mill swords
    10-20 mill arch
    5 mill cavs
    2 mill phracts
    3 mill+ transporters
    1-12 mill ballista
    1-3 mill rams
    1-6 mill pults

I'm curious as to what the total account population listed in stats / Player Info section actually indicates. I'm not asking about the idle population per city.

Is this the cumulative total of all city's idle population, or does it (as I suspect) give a rough estimate of total troops a player has?

For example, does the Population indicate approximately 10% of the actual total troop count of the player's account? e.g., 564k pop = 5,640,000+ troops that the player has, give or take?

This number seems to radically increase for players with large numbers of troops, who are also typically the game's top players in stats.

If so, what is the exact formula to use for calculating that? Does anyone know?

If you're asking what I think you're asking, And I think you are...

The population you see in stats is just their 'Population' It has nothing to do with Troops, Just how many cottages they have in total.

If you're wondering why the top players on Age1 have such huge populations, Its because their heros that can Instant build troops, So cities with over 100k Population (One Rax Lotsa Cotts)

    Hope that helps.

Not entirely true, although in fairness I don't think the questioner was asking for a very advanced answer. The total population can represent *potential* troops where the player has an instant hero. Players with a very high population and a high hero generally hoard res instead of troops and que behind in order to get a huge output all at once. While the population itself doesn't indicate a badass army, in combination with a hero it could be a signal not to mess with the player.

Here's why I ask: without getting into specific details, suffice it to say that I lost many millions of troops recently...in fact, all of them, 100%, but not in battle. My population in stats dropped from the high 600's (around 687k as I recall) down to almost nothing.

Now that I've built back up again, I am in the low 500's area again, but I still haven't reached my previous troop levels.

When I looked at an enemy's total pop in stats prior to attacking him last week, he had a population of around 450k+ or so. After I completely wiped him out, that dropped dramatically to almost nothing. His troop count, based on actual numbers in battle, was approximately 4.5 million troops total, give or take a few percentage points.

If I check the top players on the server in stats, based on population, I am seeing players that I know have huge armies in the tens of millions (more like, 100 million or more, verified by the players themselves). e.g., the top guy has a pop listed in stats of 1,281,950. If that number represents a small percentage of actual troops, then what is the formula?

In my own case, my total account population is almost precisely 10% of my actual troop count, but I asked a few other players whom I trust and that number is not accurate for them.

The bottom line is, the higher that number is, you can be rest assured of that player having copious amounts of troops in their cities, without a doubt. But what does that number actually represent, and what is the ratio or formula being used to calculate that?

So, does anybody know the real answer to this puzzling question?

And I gave you the answer man, Its the total population on the account, Which is the total number of people the cottages can hold...

Ofcourse if you got wiped, No doubt you loyalty went down and therefore your population left... Same with the guy you wiped.

Any noob can have 10 lvl10 cities (over 1m pop) and have no troops.. If hes not attacked his pop (loyalty) will remain high, Theres no secret here sorry
