    Default Mechanics Question

    I'm trying to learn a bit more about mechanics, I've done pretty well so far but one thing that confuses me is this....

    Will probably need a mechanics expert to answer but I cannot see how that fight went 14 rounds, even with a double round on the lowest value ranged attack hit. Does it go from the defenders rounds? In which case there still isn't 14 rounds?

    Great hit, though I can work out how an attack should end up I never bother counting round number so probably am not the person to ask, usually seeing an attack like this I wouldnt even notice the round count.

    Since you think it should have gone less than 14 rounds, can I ask why?

    Or rather, what is your idea of how the battle actually takes place during those rounds?

    for troop movement between rounds yes, but if you want accuracy on troops killed go for dxcalc

    I'm open to correction, but:

    The 5K walls gave 1 round just to get into range; it took you 2 rounds to get through his horses, 3 rounds to get through his pike and sword, and 2 more to get through enough warriors that they weren't the priority anymore. As such, you weren't eating his archers until round 9, at which point he was targeting your mech, bye-bye balli, down to a pult hit taking out the last of his archers, and giving you free rounds on the last of his layers until your pults reach his ballista range because he didn't have pults in the city

    Short answer may have been.... 3 extra rounds due to lack of defending pults

    Khalee's description is very accurate. Here is similar perhaps simplified way to think about the rounds.

    The rounds here are pretty sensitive to horn/corselet on either side, but the general issue here is the number of rounds that A.pults don't move due to defenders in range. If you assume attacking hero is 458/33 with horn/corselet and defending hero is 202/33 with horn it works out like your report. For this hero item combo the a.pult/d.ball movement goes like this.

    1. both move
    2. d.ball move a.pult stop for cav
    3. d.ball move a.pult stop for phract
    4. both move
    5. d.ball move a.pult stop for pike/swords
    6. d.ball move a.pult stop for swords
    7. d.ball move a.pult stop for warriors
    8. d.ball move a.pult stop for warr/work
    9. d.ball move a.pult stop for warr/work/arch
    10. d.ball move a.pult stop for warr/work/arch
    11. d.ball move a.pult stop for warr/work
    12. d.ball move a.pult stop for workers
    13. both move
    14. both move (d.ball kill a.pult)
