Thread: Evony Community

    Default Evony Community

I was looking at the log in page of Evony Community earlier and saw it said we have:

    Threads: 190,454
    Posts: 1,839,264
    Members: 847,794
    Active Members: 44,995

It made me think 'what is an active member?'
Is that someone who has logged in recently?
How recently is taken into account?
Is it someone who has posted?
    How many people actively post?

Names with lines through them - are they people that are banned? have infractions? Do accts get removed permanently or are they just blocked from posting?

    Threads
Does that include the archived threads?
How many of those are active?

On an aside ... lots of threads are filled with game improvement suggestions. Are those suggestions taken to a board for discussion? If a suggestion is seen as good where does it go? Who discusses it? Is it even discussed at all? If an improvement were agreed to be good and were to be implemented what is the time taken to do that and the cost?

e.g. The Berninis Hammer - how long did that take to code, test and insert into the game and how much did it cost in man hours?

e.g. Adding a new HH - same as above

e.g. A server merge - same as above

Looks like you did spend some time and your curiosity is impressive.

    1) Active members are those who are inactive the last 1 month i guess .. i mean who ever logged in in the last month are considered active. some forums it could be 90 days period.
    2) All the names with a line strike out are those who are banned yes.
    3) Threads count includes all archived threads .. only when deleted they don't show in count.

I will leave the suggestions part to the mods or devs(appropriate)

I think the feedback site is better for game suggestions.

Thanks Crack Most helpful. It seems more banned people log in than unbanned LOL - well that was the case when I looked.

I wanted to put this in the Evony Community thread but it wont let me. I wasn't very sure where to ask this so posted here on the basis it would likely get moved - seems I completely overlooked the feedback site

    just imo as a programmer.

Well hopefully assuming 'Evony' developers are smart and in the beginning, they established some sort system like a plugin system, that would allow them to add items with ease, either way, a modification like that, wouldn't require to much time, someone to design the image, someone to write the modification, maybe 2 people in a full day, the issue would be then to figure out all the bugs and hacks that the new modification has just opened up..

You would hope they do that rather than attempt to write the whole code again
