level 10 hero= level 1 gear
level 20= level 2 gear

all the way till u have a lvl 100 hero and can put lvl 10 gear on (a hero cant go past lvl 100 unless its a HH or a king/queen)
i realise you are trying to be helpful
and the point i'm making is helped by your post

"you don't put starts on the mount" -- then why have the star button?

i'm an age1 player and age1 still doesn't have any favorites on the right hand screen

also, you say don't puts stars on your gear until it's at least lvl 9
but every lvl above 2 requires a LAS and they are rare as hen's teeth
gems fall on almost every hit, i get more than 100 a week
why not get 5-8 stars with lvl 2 gear and help your heroes at all levels?
i mean for someone who isn't buying LAS?

i will go into more detail later regarding regular heroes
for those age1 players out there... LAS is "the lost armor script" (8cents), there are 16 pieces of gear (including mount) that need to be upgraded, only lvl2 can be done without a LAS, depending on the gear, you need material (wood, fabric, iron ore, etc) (2cent each) the higher the level the more material required (these fall from the wheel like resources). once you have your gear, you can apply gems to the gear to get stars. delicate gems (1cent) and flawless gems (2cents), applying gems does not automatically achieve a star, the number of gems and the type increases your chance of a star
when i applied 8 stars on a particular piece of gear i used 60 gems
the more stars the bigger the impact on the hero's attributes
