I am sure there are many of those on Age 1 looking for a challenge, and while Atlantis or HCs might provide that option they stick to Age I due to the familiarity and thinking Age II was some stupid rip-off of Age I. To be honest, I was wacked out by the blue screen in Beta and thought I would never get used to it, but I did. Its nice you have actually made the switch, apparently not an easy thing to do for some people.
What some Age I players can't seem to grasp is that many Age II players (especially some of the better ones) originated in Age I and have been playing since '09 and the early age I servers. Generally, Age II players seem to respect Age I players more while Age I players seem to think of Age II players as the runts of Evony.
I personally believe that neither is better than the other (except for the lag, of course), and that it is merely personally a matter of preference. Some may like the facebook tools and reduced troop costs plus added challenge's with Age II, while those on Age I like the orginal method, with nobody whining about the game being over once Atlantis gets capped.
