What a classic pile of Evony BS. They refuse to enforce the TOS because they can make more money by letting bots and hacks run rampant. They allow people unlimited buying to bully and beat up anyone who actually attempts to play within the rules. They allow people to hack heroes to instant anything in the first days of a server, and open taunt that they are doing it with hacks and exploits, and do nothing about it. It you submit proof of someone violating TOS, you get a reply of a customer service survey. On the rare occasion that someone violates badly enough to get Evony's attention, that is costs them money, they get a free holiday for a while, not their account deleted as the TOS state. Now, after sanctioning all these things by their refusal to enforce the TOS, they simply change the rules by allowing these same people to buy items to break the last defenses against them. Now, these hacks with scores of feeder accounts (against TOS), and their 30-100M scouts, and glitched heroes (against TOS), and 20M archers, and 10M mechs, and port next to you, speed up their bot (against TOS) attacks, cripple your account, force your gates, and kill anything you have worked to build.
I am done. I started this game months after it because Evony. Evony will not see another cent from me. I will play until my current armies are dead. Now I simply need to see what else to do with the free time I will suddenly have.
And do I get the army it took me months to honestly build back but you allowed the hackers to kill back when the buffs wear off? I did not glitch heroes to instant catapults and instant walls. I do not have 20 feeder accounts and 50 billion of each resource to replace my things as they do. No, it wont swing the balance of power, the cheaters already have the power. It will just finally finish off those of us who have struggled to hold them off.
Not really a blatant hissy fit. I am currently doorstepped by exactly that. Between 3 cities, I have 6 reds 1 mile away. Each have in them between 20 and 90 million scouts, and a minimum of 10 million archers per city, and 5 million mechs. All have instant wall heroes and at least instant archers. All 6 attacking cities are shared between 3 players giving them 24 hour coverage. They have as much resource in each city as I have gone through in 6 months. My last defense it to close gates because I cannot react that fast to fight that many bot attacks at one time, and then spend money on truces so I can sleep. What next, a buffer so they can break truces too? How about a $100 item that just erases a city?
It is clear now that anyone involved with the development of this game must not play it. If they did they would see the biggest problem with fighting anyone is holiday/trucing/bot trucing. Adding buff items for 30$ is ridiculous. The mechanics and gameplay should not be affected by spending money. Clearly they did this since they already have implemented these kind of spells in age2 and the code was already written. Cut and paste change a few variables and bam lets charge 30$ for these dumb items. Good strategy for profit. Much better then actually investing time and effort into fixing the issues hardcore players face that ruin there gaming experience. While really I could use this gate item to tear someone down in a matter of minutes now. 9x citys all sending 10x waves of 100k trans. There is no fun nor strategy in that... So I fail to see the evony mods claims of needing new strategy's. Oh wait I have it they do this you port/truce/holiday! Here is an idea take the old servers and merge them with a new larger map. Add a few states. Fix it so people can not truce 24 hours a day. I mean how hard can it be to determine how long someone has truced. A simple query in your database should easily give you this info. With all the obvious needed changes any real player sees leave it to these guys to add the dumbest things they can think of. All in the name of turning a profit. Good job evony development team! You all truly are a special group...short bus special that is!
I personally don't like the item that can force my gate shut. If I go down, I would rather go down fighting. It's just not fair. Really unfair. It also negates the need to reinforce and application of defensive skills with the right mix of troops (not closing gates) and reduces the game to a mere coinfest instead of a war game. Players with more of the items can just waltz through your city. I do understand that new strategies have to be implemented to infuse life into a declining game but please don't let someone force my gates shut. It runs counter to the idea of a war game. I would like to battle and not just become a spectator.
I've read through this thread and taken note of what's been said and yes I can see what the fear is, no one likes the idea of having their gates forced shut or open and what that could entail, losing your resources and heroes, a chilling thought. However if the rarity of the "Broken Gates" strat is as rare as Evony say it is how many people will be able to use it for the maximum 5 times for 5 hours. I'm willing to bet not many.
Now, there have been a lot of complaints from Age I players that the defenders "have it too easy" and the concessions for defenders "makes attacking much more harder". Well here you have a gift, you can force that guy who constantly closes his gates to open them or that huge guy that you haven't got a hope in hell of defeating (for a limited time) you can close his gates, get your resources back and have a chance of levelling the playing field a bit. The amount of resources that players of the larger persuasion have you'll be there for more than an hour clearing them out. Anyway if you are that super large player who gets hits by "Broken Gates" you can have a whole lot of fun getting your res back.
Maybe it's time that the game had a bit of a shake up. My only real concern is that it's another advantage to coiners, which if you don't then it would suck mightily to be hit by these Devil packs, on the other hand you can give your alliance friends a boost with the Angel. Worth looking at it from another point of view.
Thanks to Infinitus for the epic B'day pressie!
