    Haven't used it as yet but I'm guessing the way it works is if you want to keeps a players gates open you have to hit them with the gates open strat option at a time when they already have their gates open, and vice versa for gates closed.
    Evony need to make this clear however.

    If this is true it needs a redesign. Most players are in agreement the forced closing of gates is extremely easy to abuse. If you have to wait for the botter to open gates then how is it supposed to work if they never open them? Or do I have to time it perfectly for when a cav loy wave hits and hope it works? Should just force them open for the hour time.

    According to some recent activity on our server, broken gates was used to close gates on a player who had ported in to help defend an HC. This allowed them to easily be put into suppression and effectively stopping them from being able to attack.

    There has still been no answer why gates that are normally closed cannot be opened with broken gates. Why give us the option to open if we can't force them open? If broken gates can close gates then it stands to reason that they should be able to be opened as well.

    People at Evony don't even have a clue about the problem with gate closing. We want to kill troops! That is why we train them, to use them in a war game. We want to be able to force them into a fight, even if it is just for one hour.

    I'm not spending any additional money just to get these packs. First of all, you can't determine which angel or devil pack you get...and it seems the popular ones are rare. Second, several of these strats are neither needed nor wanted by the players. And lastly, if the gates open/closed doesn't open closed gates but only closes open gates, it's not what's needed to enhance the game.

    It's obvious to me from the strats created and from the confuzzled responses by the Evony team on the open gate strat that the Evony reps don't even know how their own game works. The enemy is already an expert at hiding their troops behind closed gates. We want to be able to OPEN those gates and fight their troops.

    This better not come out on age1, imagine someone porting into your home base while your asleep, forcing your gates shut, denying the ability of the army that you've worked so long to build, and spent so many hours feeding, to fight. And they simply send and arch bow to take out ATs, then transbomb you until your all out of res, leaving your army to refuge, and when you come online the army you've been building up is dead, heroes run away due to lack of gold. Horrible item.

    This will simply drive more people to account sit or bot, so they can program their bot to send res to another city, and send res to the city getting hit to save heroes/comfort. Age1 doesn't want stupid age2 items.

    Since Age 1 doesn't have strats, I don't think you have anything to worry about.

    So this morning, our alliance received this system mail:

    Are you an Angel or Devil?
    Any purchase of $30 or more by June 26th will also include the choice to be an Angel or a Devil. So which will it be? CLICK HERE!
    ANGEL
    Boons to boost your allies! You could give increased marching speed, troop health or hero stats!
    DEVIL
    Pacts to torment your enemies! You could break their gates, send them a plague, or cripple their troops or heroes!
    See you on the battlefield!
    The general response, to quote nicely was "I want a refund!" and "There is a reason I left age 2!" and some of "Why on earth..."

    Evony, these "specials" take away from the Age 1 - pure fighting and strategy that we all love. A "present" to take away or screw with game functions is totally wrong.

    Some other questions:

    "Cripple my heroes" If I had a insta-treb hero, and it got crippled and lost by this gift because someone spent $30.. I'd recall every cent I ever spent from paypal.

    "Break my gates" I'm guessing this means it will open my gates, even though I would like to keep them shut. Part of every defense tactic includes playing with gates, and now you can't because you don't even know if they will be open or closed yourself.

    Anyway - point of this post: Cent specials and Item specials are good. Everybody likes those. Weird mechanic-breaking specials... not cool.

    I agree with Hachi. This ruins the game mechanics. This is age 1, not age 2! Not cool! I'm gonna stop p(l)aying till this is over.

    agreed and seconded , its just a ploy to make more cash but will give the game a financial boost then it will die cos pretty much everyone who only buys 1 or 2 chests a month will quit
