Spambots have won.
Moderators have lost.
Sad day for the forums.
As you see above... spambots are running wild.

Yeah, they have a serious problem with these spambots. But I think the terms Evony has set for the forum is the reason why they can't do anything about it, other than moderate it. I was told this was not up to Dawnseeker :/
No, they haven't won. You can't even see 0.1% of the spambots that post here.
From the looks of that screenshot, all you're seeing is ONE overzealous spambot that made it through the filter. This is not a phenomenon; it happens... regularly.
It is business as usual for the mods. We will continue to clean thousands and thousands of unseen posts (manually) while some posters feel the need to comment about the random few that they can see.
What i'm getting at here, is that it's no big deal. So STOP acknowledging them. STOP quoting them. STOP talking to them. STOP making not-so-funny-after-the-millionth-time jokes about their posts.
It makes more work for us mods because it:
- Messes with the filter
- Adds to their spam & derailment
- Encourages those who sent them
So then I have to not only delete and ban the bot, but also infract/warn and remove/edit the subsequent spambot-related posts.
Want to help out? Easy peezy lemon squeezy! It's simple. Ignore the spambot. Then report the spambot's post. Then continue to post as if it doesn't exist. Done!
Thread closed on account of its rule breaking and absurdity.
