    American here,

Just wanted to say NBC sucks. The Olympics shouldn't be about commer******m. They should get BBC or someone of the like to air it internationally. Not sure if that's possible or how it would work otherwise.

The closing ceremony sooooo much better than the opening ceremony.

    Also, go America.

Probably wouldn't work too well because different countries will focus on different events/athletes, and I suspect probably some countries might want to censor some things (I can't imagine the middle-east would've shown all the women in 'revealing' outfits running around in the closing ceremonies, as an example).

And yes, what really disappointed me this year with NBC was their caving in for political advertisements during the Olympics. In previous years, I watched the Olympics to get away from the incessant mudslinging and slander of politicians, it's sad that this may be a thing of the past now.

South Korea. You just repeated that Korean confusion conspiracy from the first day.

Also, I believe totals would go like this:
    USA: 104
    China: 87
    Russia: 82
    UK: 65
    Germany: 44

    And golds go like this:
    USA: 46
    China: 39
    UK: 29
    Russia: 24
    South Korea: 13

I think the games was an enormous success and yet I feel that in this day and age to hold the paraolympics as a separate event is in fact saying 'second class citizens'.

I accept it means more people at one event and the event may take a further week or so but the stadiums are never all in full time use from start to finish- so maybe not. Also the range of events is not as great.

Whats to stop events running as say: 100m mens, 100m mens para etc?

If anything those that rise above some horrendous disabilities and achieve so much should be celebrated more and not shoved into a limelight.
