The Wall is UP!

A few days ago, the wall went up around the World to divide the internet into two seperate entities. The two seperate entities are now "known as" the North and Western Europe and the Asia Pacific zones. (So much for the World Wide Web, I suppose?)

Anyhoo...

I quite liked my WorldWideWeb because it gave me the chance to meet and talk to people all over the World and that was good.How do you feel about it? You thinks it's ok? Really? Oh well, now I'm stuck in a zone with you guys and between you and me, one of us is crazy and I don't think it's me.

I havent heard about this but i did hear about UN telecomunications sections holding hearings to see if they will attempt to transfer the internet from ICANN to UN telecomunications commitee because of controversy over the stuxnet and flame the US and Israeli launched.

I,m sorry but I cannot provide proff but here is the way it went down for me:

About a week ago, I checked my Windows update anytime link and I was offered an improved version of Windows Vista, the operating system I am currently running (I know, I know, the shame of having such a clunky op.sys. is almost too much to bare.) or a free upgrade to Windows 7. I clicked through a few pages of information about the details and I was still undecided really but in the end I decided to stick with what I have and just get the patch. Once I clicked the download button, a new screen came up asking me which internet zone I wished to be a part of and the choice was between either the North America/Western European zone or the Asia/South Pacific zone.

It's probably only a choice for people like myself because I live in Australia and in many ways, we straddle both zones but since most of my online connections are in the West, I chose to opt in that direction.

How can I prove it? Well, I can't really so you're just going to have to take my word for it.

I'm not entirely sure what's up with this thread, but it seems to be messing with the filter XD Another fellow had a few of his posts caught in it too.

Anyways, i'm pretty sure the 'Internet Zones' you mentioned has something to do with which servers would be given priority by your computer to increase performance. Just guessing though.

Maybe it is to do with how Asian's and Chinese people write right-to-left or maybe down the page?

Never heard of a split in the WWW

Or maybe it is just so they know which server to stream your patch coding from.
