Chrome uses its own builtin flash plugin and it is known to be problematic. I ran into this freezing issue too and it can be fixed by disabling Chrome's flash plugin and leaving Adobe's flash plugin enabled. Chrome will use Adobe's flash plugin in this case.
You can do this by going to: about:plugins
Adobe's plugin will reside in a Windows system folder whereas the Chrome plugin will reside in a User folder so it's easy to tell them apart. You may also need to go to Adobe's site and install the latest flash player.
