    Text The Bloop

    Have you heard?
    about
    the Bloop?

The bloop was a short series of "ultra-low frequency" sounds that emanated from an unknown location deep underwater in the pacific ocean. It was louder than any known animal sound, yet scientists believe it to be biological in nature.
This is the CNN article on the Bloop, but if you google it there are many other sources as well as many theories surrounding the strange underwater phenomenon.

So what do you think? You think some nessie-esque creature could be out there, lurking in the deep? Or perhaps it could be something other than biological, perhaps even something otherworldly?
You can hear the recorded noise on wikipedia and youtube. It certainly does sound like a bloop.

Well supposedly the sound was too large for any known biological creature to create with the slim possibility of Rosie O'Donnell taking a swim and passing gas.

We all know Sasquatch is real because of them cool beef jerky commercials, area 51 is definitely not a hoax, plus discovery channel aired a show called "The Body Found" where "real" scientists found mermaid remains. I've come to believe EVERYTHING I see on TV and the internet these days. Who knows anything could be possible!

You have three guesses. The first two don't count.

My guess would be gas build up in natural pockets in the crust that pop open when the pressure becomes too great. This could happen in many spots (I'd imagine) which would cause widespread instances of the noise. Also, there's no way this could be regular since I'd imagine natural pockets vary in many ways.
However, I'm obviously no geologist, so I don't know if this is actually possible or not. I am quite honestly unaware of how gaseous matter behaves at the temperature and pressure at various spots on the sea floor, so...

I read somewhere, perhaps in the CNN article I linked, that some scientists proposed that it was ice caps shifting or breaking, or something of that nature.
I don't know if gas build up, even at the intense pressures and temperatures down there, could produce a noise at a low frequency. It seems as though they would be quick burst at high frequency, but I don't exactly know how the sound waves of popping gas behave either so... who knows?

    Perhaps it's aliens?
