    Default The Evony Economy

    Okay, so im no economist. I dont know zilch about how things work but how does the evony economy work?

    I believe evony should intervene more into a servers little economy because something so simple can make people give up on the game.

    For the last few months food on Na33 food has been bought at around 4-6 per unit and selling at 3-5 per unit while lumber and iron maintaining at buying at 2-4 per unit and selling for around the same

    This was an okay balance...you sell 99,999,999 food and getting 300-500mil gold or so and you buy 50mil iron and lumber for that city...lasts a few days, job done.

    Now food is selling at 1-3 per unit and you can buy at 4-5 per unit.....

    BUT Iron and Lumber are buying 3-6 per unit.


    I can personally, can only just survive and keep my barracks fully queued, with no chance of being able to attack anyone ( so I wont buy any advanced porters or $30 packs ) because I have no food in my citys to go attacking people with and I refuse to buy vestas just to attack someone,

    I know the economy is affected buy what people buy & sell at but this is a game, cant the servers economy be a little less literal and more easy for the players? If evony made it easier for people to maintain there resource levels better people will spend more and play more instead of being stressed about it and just not bothering anymore.

    [Edit:] I would have thought evony would have come up with some alternative for players who stay on servers longer who have bigger troops counts and still need the same amount of resources like lumber and iron to continually queue troops and also so they have access to food without breaking rules like using seconds/alt accounts to farm on etc..

    The market varies greatly server to server, day to day.

    Soz..uum.. *EDIT* I re-read OP..

    So whats the solution? A reso stimulus/bailout in the market? Such as printing more money from thin air to dillute the market

    I think the one edge you have is to be online and farming as much as possible. If you cant do that, you cant really compete, and if you cant compete evony has no real use for you :S

    Threatening or crying (w/e you lable it) about not coining is not going to win their minds either lol

    but when you need 200million lumber a day and about 300mil stone to queue pults like I am doing atm its very very hard to maintain resources amounts....food aside its lumber and iron that is most difficult to maintain....and now i have to sell 200-300million food to buy 100million lumber and i have a 200million food upkeep per hour....can you imagine how hard that is...

    A2) Run 0 food in your cities (hide it in valleys when you're not on)...Change your city from farms to sawmills and iron mills. With all the botting going on food will always be cheaper than lumber or iron so you gain a surplus by switching. Also instead of producing a depleating resourse you can stock pile lumber and iron (which is impossible with food)

    huh? food cheaper than lumber and iron? guess you haven't stuck out a server for any considerable amount of time.....last time I looked on na32 (server is approx 1.5 years old) food was over 10 per unit...lumber under 3 and iron at 0.7

    With any kind of large army on a server similar to 32 switching to complete sawmills and/or iron mines wouldn't be beneficial to trying to sustain troops. Much more efficient early in a server to have fields go one way or another (iron or lumber) but after 6 months or so once the food prices rise nearer to lumber/iron costs, the only real option is straight farms imo (it simply slows the bleeding as a server progresses), plus you can stack more racks with the lower cott requirements depending on your population needs. Here's a couple numbers for ya.....

    You get 30x food vs res in a lvl 10
    You get 17x food vs res in a lvl 5
    You get 13x food vs res in a lvl 4

    If you were to do the math on that at the rates on older servers you can buy as much resources as you could ever use.....that is dependant on your online amount of time naturally and if you can keep up with a massive army eating everything in sight

    Idk cut upkeep in half of the current setup would be nice but I know people who would gouge your eyes out, and sell their children for a vesta so that would just affect Evony's bottom dollar in the end. I would rally for multi-tap to be re-instated but we all know that won't happen. Something should be done about market prices and/or producing, farming resources, but I'm sure there are plenty of other fixes on top of everyone's list that should be fixed first. Obviously bots ruin the market and getting rid of them will probably be the end all solution to most of the issues players have.

    yup but it's still hard to keep food in the black with the size of armies that are possible to build on age2

    Its not about what i can do to maintain my resource income its about the entire server.......you have to sell 200million food to buy 100million lumber...thats just a snippet of the problem, its not about me personally maintaining what I have its for everyone

    Are you suggesting a more advanced market? Or are you just wanting it to satisfy your every need?

    Real Economy's a beotch, so I understand why this one can be as well. Not always favorable.
