Having a set amount of guaranteed gems to acheive a certain star set, would indeed make it nicer for some, but in all honesty, it would also hurt the game also. Very similar to an alliance owning all the HC's in server, it would take the thrill out of a game.
If you knew you only needed 15498 delicates and 12374 flawless to 'purchase' a 15 set, the entire server would be 15 sets. Leaving it to 'who can chase the HH's fastest' as that would be the only leverage that players would have over each other.
It is the thrill of hitting 'auto' on 3000 delicates and 1400 flawless, and watching as it never goes above 8 that keeps people trying or the thrill of hitting 'auto' on 3000 delicates and 1400 flawless and getting every star to 15 first attempt...
The issue that the game has are..
When using Auto to upgrade, and it uses 4 delicates to upgrade from 0-1, how do you explain a failure?
I've burned through more gems with that lovely little issue than is warranted. If getting your star set truly means it runs on probilities, let correct the simple math issues.
100% success rate isn't as successful as it used to be.
