What does that mean you ask? It means that not all countries have the same laws. If I lived in my own country and I decided to libel somebody in America, one wouldn't be able to legitimately press charges against me if my country had no laws against it and there was no extradition policy with America.
besides you can always hide out in a ecuadorian embassy in the uk, to avoid extradition to sweden (where they have some trumped up charges organised by the cia) and ultimately stay out of the usa where they want you for some politically embarrassing internet activity

at least that's what seems to be working... for now

The legal argument is real and there is a UN convention that was recently signed by Australia and other countries to allow (certain) foreign powers to access any and all internet records, which are now being kept on all of us. Every word we write, every site we visit, every meme we post can all be used against us. See you in Ecuador!

im going to be as constructive as possible and not let this get personal....

    this thread is absolutely garbage.

the level of "trolling" you see on this forum in no way justifies starting legal proceedings against people. certain personal boundaries need to be crossed for even a hope of prosecution.

not only is it extreme, its would also be a very embarassing case to try and build against someone. only someone with a lot of money and a personal vendetta would even attempt such a thing and on the grounds of a few pony memes, it would fall flat on its face.

    acer is 100% correct.

also rodri, can i just say how glad i am you didnt leave the forums forever

these foreign powers you mentioned though were passed in order to combat more serious crimes such as "forgery, fraud, child ****ography and infringement of copyright and intellectual property,"

im afraid pictures of pretty horses arent even on their radar

lest we forget the leaking of politically damaging materials that can be deemed by some governments as military intelligence and therefore an act of treason

but hey, what's the death penalty, just a chance for 3 hots and a cot while you wait in gitmo...

So it's a threat then? I'm confused as to what the goal of this thread is...

I read that statement, and to be honest, it sounded like a threat.

Threat: a statement of an intention to inflict pain, injury, damage, or other hostile action on someone in retribution for something done or not done:
members of her family have received death threats
Law- a menace of bodily harm, such as may restrain a person’s freedom of action.
2a person or thing likely to cause damage or danger:
hurricane damage poses a major threat to many coastal communities
[in singular] the possibility of trouble, danger, or ruin:
the company faces the threat of liquidation proceedings
    [mass noun]:
thousands of rail freight jobs came under threat.

    Above: Simple request. Factual statement.

Ummm, I once held the bar to hostage with a bomb, so I could make off with a truckload of guiness but it was only a fake bomb. The bar was blown up many times in it's early days (but not by me, I swear!).
I also ran for mayor of off-topic as the Anarchy candidate and backed the Banana Republic candidate in a previous election, then there's...

...where did I leave my passport?
