It was just an example, and a setup that's pretty heavy to attack compared to what you would normally see.
The only argument I've ever heard to say you can defend from 1 city is from a guy who knows his stuff. And he mentioned the bounce off a valley trick. However, it takes 12mines (6mins for balli and 6mins back) to time the right set of layers to defend a good attacker, one who knows how to break mech defense.
Sure adjustments can be made on defense to minimize losses for 1 round, but then what about the next one. And the attacker can make adjustments based on your adjustments as well. I've never come across anyone who can defend me with 1 city without a ton of troops; you gotta have that 2nd one so you can time in stuff to buffer your losses and even then it takes luck if lag is on your side.
And don't get me started on the script attackers who will time like 30-40 attacks from multiple cities.. good luck.
I've always just played for the fight, not for the capping of cities, so maybe that's why I have this negative opinion on this update. Alot more running away and hiding is going to happen now instead of fighting and seeing what you can do for fun.
And Porting in your warcity isn't always an option, especially if state isn't full. But what if he kills your warcity, then what you teleport? Then what if he chases you? I guess keep porting or holiday lol. Also an attacker will catch you offguard and you won't have time to move in another city. Once your res is gone, he's just gonna keep spamming you cause there's that "chance" you will run out of speech texts.
